They played it a couple times just last year, it's been back pretty much since 2013

I kinda thought a Thursday release would mean midnight, just found out it's gonna be out in the morning.

How long after the single release does everyone think we'll get a release date for the album? I hope the release date is sometime in September at the most.

I also wonder if the release tomorrow would be a music video or just a lyric video type of thing.

And the pics Billie posted with a song list that includes Walking Contradiction and Armatage Shanks, does that indicate rehearsal for a show? Cause on fb most people seem to think they're just songs that inspired the new record, which doesn't sound logical if you consider it's a hand written list hung in the studio.

One last thought, so Billie Joe is talking about ending pop punk, is what I here.. well that sounds cool but wasn't Green Day among the pioneers of that genre? I might be out of touch but what current musical acts qualify as pop punk? Like artists who are got big within the last few years by playing pop punk.. can't think of any.

I really hope there's a music video or at least a lyric video.

I think the setlist might just be general rehearsal for shows they'll be playing on the tour (rather than for a specific show). They have "x4" next to some of the new songs, probably meaning they'll play them through 4 times, so I think they're just practicing to get ready for tour.

The actual pop punk tweet was 'my mission for 2016? to destroy the phrase "pop-punk" forever'. I think it's highly possible he just doesn't like the phrase pop punk . Could be he dislikes sub-genre labeling in general, or dislikes the negative connotations that can come with that label or the restrictiveness of it. Doesn't necessarily means it has anything to do with disliking that type of music itself or whether they'll play it.

I hope that they literally come with a bang after the single release; album (and world tour) announcement, few TV-show appereances etc. I like this kind of marketing, not even a word before the single, and then everything comes with a one big boom. Too much hype before the release isn't the best idea. Few days ago and even yesterday I was hoping for a leak, but because now they've kept it on themselves and out of the interwebs, it's so good to see that the song hasn't leaked anywhere. It's good for the band, good for the media and especially good for us fans.

So I'm on Spotify, ya know, just casually waiting for a certain thing to come on and as soon as I open it, REVOLUTION RADIO is at the top of the screen.   It's the name of one of their playlists or whatever but totally had me freaking out a bit more than I already am.

PAnd with the free download and coloured vinyl, it's like they listened to exactly what I wanted!

So, apparently, this record is written from the perspective of a "masked shooter." At least, that's what I believe I heard them say on 94.5 The Buzz (a Houston radio station).

Edit: It was "mass shooter" not "masked." I'm an idiot.

"¡Uno! ¡Dos! ¡Tré! was very much like a writing machine and just kept going no matter what. Even to the point we're forcing the material." - BJ from the Rolling Stone interview.

Hold up though. Wasn't the trilogy supposedly the most "prolific" and "creative" time of their lives? What happened?
