That Dude
I feel like they put some American Idiot level effort into making this album sound as good as it could be without suiciding themselves in the process.
stories and songs
Lots of effort without killing themselves is definitely the ideal situation. We like living Green Day.
Red
Forever Now is probably going to be one of my favorite Green Day songs of all time. "My name is Billie and I'm freaking out" is already one of the most straightforward, yet awesome opening lines I have ever heard in a Green Day song. stories and songs
They really have the perfect mix down on this one: Observant and sometimes humorous lyrics, maturity (but not too much), and diverse sounds that call back to previous albums while also pushing forward. Like, I just want to go give them high fives. THEY GOT IT SO RIGHT.
matteo263
Bloody good album!!! Finished it and went straight back up to the start again.....I need more of this!! There's defo some things I don't like

Yeah, it's like 21CB levels of ambition in songs but mixed with some of the sense of humor that made older Green Day songs so memorable.
Platypus2000
Such a shame that Outlaws is sandwiched between my two favourite songs on the album, no matter how hard I try I can't like it, I want to fall asleep every time I hear it. I know I keep creaming over BOTW but it sounds like a 60's rock n roll song with an extreme modern twist in the best possible way, only Green Day, eh. Justin1
Is it just me, or is there something strange with the transition from Bouncing Off The Walls to Still Breathing? It could just be the leak I have, but it seems weird..
Westside Highway
Four songs in to second listen. Hated "Say Goodbye" on first listen but it's really growing on me! Sounds similar to East Jesus Nowhere.
ImaKilljoyfromDetroit
This album is a solid 9/10 for me.

AmyxLongview
Outlaws is one of my favorites on the album so far. The bridge is a stand-out moment in the album for me.

While other songs are reminiscent, this one feels like they too straight from it, albeit, they were a little more creative with it, the slow stuff just isn't for me unless there's a huge hook or something special in there. I see what you mean, but it actually kind of reminds me more of Scattered than Wild One. I probably wont be able to unhear that now though haha. unextraordinarygirl
Now that people have said Outlaws sounds like Wild Ones now I can definitely hear that and won't be able to unhear it. I do really love the song though. The line in Young Blood "I'm a rough boy around the edges. Getting drunk and falling into hedges." totally cracked me up. I laugh every time I hear it now. the69thgumby
Whaaaat. People actually don't like this? I'm floored. I think this is some of the best work they've done, truly and honestly. Outlaws, Forever Now (and Somewhere Now), and Say Goodbye are my favorites besides the three singles. I really enjoy Too Dumb To Die, Ordinary World, and Troubled Times as well. Youngblood and Bouncing Off the Wall are also good. There's literally not a single bad song on here. I guess since I like a Foo Fighters-The Who esque kind of sound, this is really appealing for me.
