The cover art seems to have no actual connection to the music

It should've been retro, damn it.

Seriously, I wouldn't mind if they want to play the entire new album front to back during this tour.

There's always the 19th anniversary tour to look forward to :P

I wonder if they're doing the KROQ show this year.

Say Goodbye is incredible.  It's like a more accessible East Jesus Nowhere, which was never one of my favorites.

Troubles Times and Too Dumb to Die were fine, but forgettable.

I was pleasantly entertained by Youngblood considering all the hate on here.  It started off weird but was really fun!

I thought Youngblood was great musically, but the lyrics are cringeworthy.  That ruined it for me.

I thought SAy Goodbye was far too repetitive, but otehrwise a great track.

It's great to finally listen to all of Revolution Radio as a whole. Even if it leaked which I was hoping wouldn't happen, but it happened.

After listening to the whole album, I believe the first half is excellent because of songs such as Say Goodbye or RevRad. However, the second half of the album is good, but not as strong in comparison to the first half. Except for Ordinary World which is one of the best tracks on the album.

Also, I really dont think the cover art reflects the music on this album at all. Lol

Seems like an album is more about getting over a mid-life crisis, than a political message.

after a 2nd listen I definitely like it better this time around. I like forever now a lot and I like Ordinary World a lot too, I could see that one being a single

Like many on here, first listen I didn't really like it. Second time through and I'm starting to appreciate more parts of it.

Troubled Times is easily my favorite track. Such a fucking amazingly haunting song.

Fantastic album. Somewhere Now it is amazing, it is remarkable inspiration in The Who. Forever Now, at the end, revisits Somewhere Now magnificently. Troubled Times and Say Goodbye are just fucking good and fucking awesome. Youngblood is as if the Beatles and Green Day had made a jam session. Too Dumb To Die is very fun to listen to, reminds me of the style of the latest album from Paramore. Outlaws is one of the most beautiful and nostalgic songs I've ever had the pleasure of listening. Ordinary World closes perfectly the álbum.

First listen: it sounds a bit strange to me... Its all the different "effects"  that I don't like much..i prefer straight vocals,  guitars,  bass and drums.

The first time I listened, I listened on my phone.  Right now I am torturing my children by blaring it on the stereo.  Much better on the stereo!

On my second listen. God I really love Somewhere Now and Say Goodbye so much.  I am listening to the lyrics more and Say Good Bye has upbeat music but the lyrics are sad. I just realized that.

Okay i'm going in!!!!

Somewhere Now: Wow at those Who vibes. Sounds like a Behind Blue Eyes/Quick One (their cover) mashup. I like how this one builds.

Say Goodbye: Holy shit, that intro made me squeal  Love the guitars in this one. It's so dark, wow.

Outlaws: I hear the similarities to Wild One, but I like this one better. It reminds me a bit of Dark Side of Night in the verses too.

Bouncing Off The Walls: This is like Troublemaker with heavier guitars, which is a good thing! Solid song.

Youngblood: More hand claps  Aw, this is a cute song. I feel the 60s vibe with this.

Too Dumb To Die: This is just so Green Day. I hear influences from all previous albums.

Troubled Times: This song has major Fallen Leaves by Billy Talent vibes and that's one of my favourite songs. LOVE this!

Forever Now: Omg that Somewhere Now reprise! I'm digging this one. Beautiful. "I ain't gonna stand in line no more" :D

Ordinary World: Lol this song is super cute. And I love Billie's voice in it too.

Overall, and on first listen, a really great album. They've got the classic GD sound in there whilst also trying some new arrangements and little effects, and I like that. I can see why it could be jarring though, if you were expecting anything like they've done before. I really love the guitar sound in this album, especially compared to the overall blandless of the Trilogy's. I definitely need a few more listens, and the lyrics would help too as I concentrated mostly on the music this time round! What's interesting this album also is that Billie isn't using a character to write behind, it seems so much more personal than any other of their albums this decade at least.

first time through.....Troubled Time is a fucking masterpiece and easily my favorite of this record

the melody reminds me so much of a Beatles song, but I can't quite place it...maybe, "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"?  Is anyone else hearing it?

I posted this on reddit earlier today but it got removed, so I figured I'd place it here as well since the forums seem to be a bit less strict on discussion of the album.

Here's my lyric sheet for the entire album:

  Reveal hidden contents

These are not official, but assumed based on what I can hear:

Somewhere Now

I'm running late to Somewhere Now
I don't want to be
Where the future and promises
a'int what it used to be

I never wanted to compromise
or bargain with my soul
How did the life on the wild side get so dull?

I'm cut off and medicated
I'm untying the reings (?)
I put the "riot" in patriot
and we all die in threes!

I got a seed(?) in the middle of the road
I'm gonna take my time
I shot my lines so I can bolt
At the speed of life!

I'm like a drum way up in the sky
I'm a shooting star
There's a soldier that's freaking out
Because this is war!

I'm cut off and medicated
I'm untying the reings (?)
I put the "riot" in patriot
and we all die in threes!

All we want is weed(?) and guns (?)
A new catastrophe!
Here goes nothing, there's nothing to lose!
It's a small price we pay, when we all die in threes!

Ooooooh, Somewhere Now
Somewhere Now
Somewhere Now! x3

Hallelujah I found my soul, under the sofa pillows
Congratulations I found myself to Somewhere Now!
Somewhere Now!
Somewhere Now"

Bang Bang

"(This is definitely not the first video to surface of an execution)
(Women smashed of men, they claimed responsibility for the executions)
(Described as severely mentally disturbed)
(Videos are showing another hostage executed by the terrorist group)
(Deserve to be annihilated)

I get my kicks and I want to start a rager
I want to dance like I'm on the video
I got a fever for the violent behavior
I'm sweating bullets like a modern Romeo

Bang Bang! Give me fame
Shoot me up to entertain
I am a semi-automatic lonely boy
You're dead! I'm well fed
Give me death or give me head
Daddy's little psycho and Mommy's little soldier

I testify like a lullaby of memories
Broadcasting live and it's on my radio
I got my photo bomb, I got my Vietnam
I love a lie just like anybody else

Bang Bang! Give me fame
Shoot me up to entertain
I am a semi-automatic lonely boy
You're dead! I'm well fed
Give me death or give me head
Broadcasting from my room and playing with my toys

I want to be a celebrity martyr
The leading man in my own private drama
Hurrah (bang bang), hurrah (bang bang)
The hero of the hour
Daddy's little psycho and Mommy's little soldier

I want to be like the soldiers on the screen
It's my private holy war
Oh baby baby this is Viva Vendetta
For this is love or it's World War Zero

I want to be a celebrity martyr
The leading man in my own private drama
Hurrah (bang bang), hurrah (bang bang)
The hero of the hour
Daddy's little psycho and Mommy's little soldier

I want to be a celebrity martyr
The leading man in my own private drama
Hurrah (bang bang), hurrah (bang bang)
The hero of the hour
Daddy's little psycho and Mommy's little soldier"

Revolution Radio

"Scream with your hands up in the sky
Like you want to testify
For the life that's been deleted
Sing like a rebel's lullaby
Under the stars and stripes
For the lost souls that were cheated

We will be seen but not be heard

We are revolution radio
Operation no control
And the headline
My love's bullet proof
Give me cherry bombs and gasoline
Debutantes in surgery
And the headline
Legalize the truth

Give me rage like there's teargas in the crowd
Do you wanna live out loud?
But the air is barely breathing
Rise of the slums to the obsolete
The dawn of the new airwaves
For the anti-social media

We are revolution radio
Operation no control
And the headline
My love's bullet proof
Give me cherry bombs and gasoline
Debutantes in surgery
And the headline
Legalize the truth

We will be seen but not be heard
We are the songs of the disturbed

We are revolution radio
Operation no control
And the headline
My love's bullet proof
Give me cherry bombs and gasoline
Debutantes in surgery
And the headline
Legalize the truth"

Say Goodbye

"Say Goodbye to the ones that we love

Say Goodbye to the ones we love
Say Goodbye to the ones that were younger(?) and bye to the ones we love

Say Goodbye to the ones that we love
Say Goodbye to the ones we love
Say Goodbye to the ones were loved, Say Goodbye to the ones that we love

Violence on the rise, like a bullet in the sky
O Lord have mercy on my soul
Kindred spirits sing, for the sick and suffering! (and suffering!)
The city of damaged control, this is how we!
Oh, oh, ohh!

Say Hello to the cops on patrol
Say Hello to the cops on patrol
Say Hello to the cops on patrol
Say Hello to the ones in control!

Teach your children well, from the bottom of the well
O Lord have mercy on my soul
Hear the children sing, for the sick and suffering (and suffering!)
The city of damaged control, this is how we!
Oh, oh, ohhhh!

Violence on the rise, like a bullet in the sky
O Lord have mercy on my soul
Kindred spirits sing, for the sick and suffering! (and suffering!)
The city of damaged control, this is how we!

Say a prayer for the ones that we love
Say a prayer for the ones we love
Say a prayer for the ones that we love
Say Goodbye to the ones that we love
This is how we!

Say a prayer for the ones that we love
Say a prayer for the ones we love
Say a prayer for the ones that we love
Say Goodbye to the ones that we love
This is how we"

Outlaws

"Life after youth, fade in twilight
The dawn of a criminal in bloom
First love, first forgiveness
We were delinquents, freaks of a fading memory

Outlaws, when we were forever young
When we were outlaws, we're outlaws of redemption
But in the end
Hooligans, we destroyed suburbia
When we were outlaws
We're outlaws of forever

Scars, broken hearts
Breaking in cars, running in the light of the moon
Lost souls, bottle rockets
All that we wanted, it's for our life beyond the stars

Outlaws, when we were forever young
When we were outlaws, we're outlaws of redemption
Baby
Hooligans, we destroyed suburbia
When we were outlaws
We're outlaws of forever, baby

I got my(?) super vision, nothing will change my spirits
(?)
I plead my innocence, I plead my innocence
But that's my best defense
When you are young

Outlaws, when we were forever young
When we were outlaws, we're outlaws of redemption
Baby
Hooligans, we destroyed suburbia
When we were outlaws
The outlaws of forever

I found a knife by the railroad track, you took a train and you can't go back
Forever Now, Forever Now you'll roam"

Bouncing Off The Wall

"Concrete dream, I'm gonna make a scene
Radio, covered in gasoline
Sleeping in reverse and everybody's bouncing off the walls

Bombs away, it's just another day
A vital threat, the secret alphabet
I wouldn't sweat it, and everybody's bouncing off the walls (I'm bouncing off the walls!)

Alright
Concrete kiss, come on and do the twist
And radio, my little exorcist
We're all getting pissed, and everybody's bouncing off the walls!

'Cause it's all that I want and I want to be pretty(?)
I can see you write an X on me(?)
'Cause we're all grown freaks and we'll give you the creeps, chasing fireflies and zeroes!
(Hey!)
(Hey!)

'Cause it's all that I want and I want to be pretty(?)
I can see you write an X on me(?)
'Cause we're all grown freaks and we'll give you the creeps, chasing fireflies and zeroes!

(Hey!)
(Hey!)"

Still Breathing

"I'm like a child looking off on the horizon
I'm like an ambulance that's turning on the sirens
Oh, I'm still alive
I'm like a soldier coming home for the first time
I dodged a bullet and I walked across a landmine
Oh, I'm still alive

Am I bleeding? Am I bleeding from the storm?
Just shine a light into the wreckage, so far away, away

'Cause I'm still breathing
'Cause I'm still breathing on my own
My head's above the rain and roses
Making my way away
'Cause I'm still breathing
'Cause I'm still breathing on my own
My head's above the rain and roses
Making my way away
My way to you

I'm like a junkie tying off for the last time
I'm like a loser that's betting on his last dime
Oh, I'm still alive
I'm like a son that was raised without a father
I'm like a mother barely keeping it together
Oh, I'm still alive

Am I bleeding? Am I bleeding from the storm?
Just shine a light into the wreckage, so far away, away

'Cause I'm still breathing
'Cause I'm still breathing on my own
My head's above the rain and roses
Making my way away
'Cause I'm still breathing
'Cause I'm still breathing on my own
My head's above the rain and roses
Making my way, away, away...

As I walked out on the ledge
Are you scared to death to live?
I've been running all my life
Just to find a home that's for the restless
And the truth that's in the message
Making my way, away, away

'Cause I'm still breathing
'Cause I'm still breathing on my own
My head's above the rain and roses
Making my way away
'Cause I'm still breathing
'Cause I'm still breathing on my own
My head's above the rain and roses
Making my way, away, away...
'Cause I'm still breathing
'Cause I'm still breathing on my own
My head's above the rain and roses
Making my way, away
My way to you"

Youngblood

"Young blood, Young blood, Young Blood
She's my little young blood
Young blood, Young blood, Young Blood
Punch drunk and young blood!

She's a loner, not a stoner
Bleeding all  down the soul of Miss Theresa
Supernova, Cherry Cola
She's a the sinner in the trees of Minnesota

I'm a rough boy, 'round the edges
Getting drunk and falling into hedges
She's my weakness, fucking genius
Swear to god, and I'm not even superstitious!

Young blood, Young blood, Young Blood
She's my little young blood
Young blood, Young blood, Young Blood
Punch drunk and young blood!

I wanna hold you like a gun, we'll shoot the moon into the sun
Alright! Alright! Ow!

Are you stranded? Like I'm stranded? Do you wanna watch the world fall to pieces?
Are you broken? Like I'm broken? Are you restless? She said "fuck you, I'm from Oakland!"

Young blood, Young blood, Young Blood
She's my little young blood
Young blood, Young blood, Young Blood
Punch drunk and young blood!"

Too Dumb To Die

"Oh, Oh, I love you
Oh, Oh, I do
I got a sentimental illness for you
Please don't go away, oh yeah

I was a high school atom bomb, going off on the weekends
Smoking dope and mowing lawns, and I hated all the new trends
Me and my friends and blow
Into the middle of the road, at least it's better than here

Looking for a cause, well all I got was Santa Clause
I'm hanging on a dream that's too dumb to die
I feel like a Jell-O(???), lost somewhere over the rainbow
We are alive(?), too scared to dream
But too dumb to die

My daddy always was on strike
Going off with the teamsters
He said that everything'll be alright
Not every Sunday can be Easter

The picket lines scream "Woah! (Woah!) Don't cross!
Don't cross the line because you'll be a scab, not a martyr!

Looking for a cause, well all I got was camouflage
I'm hanging on a dream that's too dumb to die
I feel like a Jell-O(???), lost somewhere over the rainbow
We are alive(?), too scared to dream
But too dumb to......(Hey!)

Looking for a cause, well all I got was camouflage
I'm hanging on a dream that's too dumb to die
I feel like a Jell-O(???), lost somewhere over the rainbow
We are alive(?), too scared to dream
But too dumb to die!"

Troubled Time

"What good is love and peace on Earth?
When it's exclusive?
Where's the truth in the written word?
If no one reads it?
A new day dawning, comes without warning
So don't think twice, we live in Troubled Times
We live in Troubled Times

What part of history we've heard(?)
When it's repeated
Some things we'll never overcome
If we don't seek it
The world stops turning, paradise burning
So don't think twice, we live in Troubled Times
We live in Troubled Times
We live in Troubled Times

We run for cover, like a skyscaper's falling down
And I wonder, like a troubled mind

What good is love and peace on Earth?
When it's exclusive?
Where's the truth in the written word?
If no one reads it?
A new day dawning, comes without warning
So don't look twice, we live in Troubled Times
We live in Troubled Times!
We live in Troubled Minds!
We live in Troubled Times!
We live in Troubled Times!
We live in Troubled Times!"

Forever Now

"My name is Billie and I'm freaking out*

I thought that's what I was, well I can't really figure it out
I sit alone with my thoughts and prayers
Reading(?) my memories as if I was never there
Standing at the edge of the world, it's giving me the chills
Looking down the edge of the world, lost in a tango(?) it's freaking me out
Burning lights and black out (oh, oh, oh!)
From the edge of the world! (oh, oh, oh!)
From the edge of the world!

I'm like a punk rocker on labor day

How the hell did I work so hard to be born this way(?)
I never learned to read or write so well
But I can play guitar, and damn it hurts like hell!
Standing at the edge of the world, it's giving me the chills
Looking down the edge of the world, lost in a tango(?) it's freaking me out
Burning lights and black out (oh, oh, oh!)
From the edge of the world! (oh, oh, oh!)
From the edge of the world!

If this is what you call the good life, I want a better way to die!
If this is what you call the good life, I want a better way to die!

Oh I, don't wanna think about tomorrow! Don't wanna think about the road, it doesn't matter anyway!
Oh I, I wanna start a revolution! I wanna hear it on my radio, I'll put it off another day!
I want a new conspiracy, and the silence of a thousand cries!
So hurry up, I want a better way to die!

I'm running late to Somewhere Now, I don't want to be
Where the future and promise, a'int what it used to be
I never wanted to compromise, or bargain with my soul
How did the life on the wild side ever get so full?

Somewhere Noooow (x4)

Oh I, don't wanna think about tomorrow!

(Somewhere Noooow)

Don't wanna think about the road

(Somewhere Noooow),

it doesn't matter anyway!

(Somewhere Noooow)
Oh I

(Somewhere Noooow),

I wanna start a revolution!

(Somewhere Noooow)

I wanna hear it on my radio,

I'll put it off another day!

(Somewhere Noooow)
Oh I

(I a'int gonna stand in line no more!),

don't wanna think about tomorrow!

(I a'int gonna stand in line no more!)

Don't wanna think about the road

(I a'int gonna stand in line no more!),

I wanna hear it on my radio, I'll put it on another day!

(I a'int gonna stand in line no more!)"

Ordinary World

"Where can I find the city of shining light?
In an Ordinary World
How can I leave a buried treasure behind?
In an Ordinary World
The days into years roll by
It's where that I live until I die
Ordinary World

Mmmmmm, mmmmhmm

What would you wish if you saw a shooting star?
In an Ordinary World
I'd walk to the end of the Earth and afar
In an Ordinary World
Baby I don't have much, but what we have is more than enough
Ordinary World

Mmmmmm, mmmmhmm

Where can I find the city of shining light?
In an Ordinary World
How can I leave a buried treasure behind?
In an Ordinary World
Baby I don't have much, but what we have is more than enough
Ordinary World

Mmmmmm, mmmmhmm"

As you can see, some lines were harder for me to discern than others, so if anyone has any further edits that might make these lyrics more accurate, those are welcome

EDIT: Changed a verse in "Too Dumb To Die", thanks to u/carrotprincess!

EDIT2: Made some changes to several verses from "Say Goodbye", "Bouncing Off The Wall", Youngblood", Too Dumb To Die" & "Troubled Time"!

EDIT3: Better formatting! Not sure how to arrange the ending of "Forever Now" since there's so many overlapping vocals during the last chorus, I APOLOGIZE

For Youngblood, it's "she's a cedar in the trees of Minnesota", not "sinner".
