Unpopular opinion: Still Breathing is the best single since AI era.

Unpopular opinion #2: Say Goodbye sucks and totally kills the momentum of the album

I appreciate your honesty but I have to 100% disagree with both those points.

Sticking my neck out and saying that Outlaws is seeming like a skip-track for me. I can't put my finger on it but it sounds very similar to a Trilogy track. Slows the album down too soon for my liking too, sorry people who like it xx

Might grow on me, you never know

I find it amusing that people are struggling to find an easy download of this.  I've never illegally downloaded an album before this one, but all I did was google it, click the first thing I saw, and download it without any weird ads or surveys

In other news, I really like the album, but I think the first half is MUCH stronger than the second half.

Waaaayyy too similar to Wild One, this and Ordinary World are the only skippable tracks for me at the moment.

The instant grat songs/singles were the best of the bunch based on first listen. Hoping the others grow on me, but I can't say this made me as excited on first listen as most of their other albums did.

I have a dream. A music video for Outlaws made of footages from "Turn It Around: The Story of East Bay Punk".
Good night guys, I look forward to wake up and listen to this record, over and over again

Youngblood is fucking great

I dont love outlaws but i feel like itll grow on me

Somewhere now feels kind of disjointed between verse and chorus but rocks

Bouncing off the wall is a lot of fun

This album sounds nothing like Dookie.  Tbh if someone told me this was Cigarettes and Valentines id believe them.  It took sounds like an album made either right before or right after American Idiot

Always been confused about the C&V. They claim the tapes were "stolen" yet I'm confused as to how you finish recording an album and then just throw it all away because a copy was stolen? The songs aren't committed to memory but the time the album is finished?

i agree, this sounds like C&V, and I definitely think a few are from that era. Or maybe the trilogy was too.

Violence on the rise
Like a bullet in the sky
Oh lord have mercy on my soul
Kindred spirits sing
For the sick and suffering
The city of damage control
This is how we roll

Oh Billie

My Revolution Radio Review:

1. Somewhere Now - A very solid opener reminiscent of 21st Century Breakdown. The melodies and a musicianship are top notch, and show that Green Day are as Rob Cavallo says, "At the top of their game". Fans who enjoy their 'Who' influenced, mid-tempo songs will love this. I know do. 8.5/10

2. - Bang Bang - A very quick paced, almost 'deceptive' first single when comparing it to the rest of the album. If fast paced, political songs similar to the feel of St. Jimmy are up your alley, you'll enjoy this one. As much as I love Green Day, I prefer their more adult/contemporary songs, so I'm going with 7/10

3. Revolution Radio - Another political gem that would fit well as a solid filler tune on American Idiot or 21st Century Breakdown. It does have it's own vibe, but doesn't say anything about Green Day we don't already know. However, it is a great title track and got me very excited about the album. It's melody filled and everything a Green Day fan loves about the band. 7.5/10

4. Say Goodbye - In my opinion, this is when the album kicks into high gear. This song stands out big time to me, as it feels very inspired and fresh sounding. I couldn't help but feel like they've still got a lot more gas where song writing is concerned after hearing this, and after a 25 year career and 12 albums, that's a huge accomplishment. I love it! 9/10

5. Outlaws - Another song that shows positive signs of really good evolution after The Trilogy. Even though it's not my favorite song on the album, it was definitely a good listen and one that I didn't want to end. I couldn't help but get a 'Wild One' vibe at the chorus, but this song is much better in my opinion. 7.5/10

6. Bouncing off the wall - At this point of the album, I couldn't help but feel like this was really beginning to sound like a 'concept' album. Even though the subject matter kind of goes in back forth, there is certainly a consistent line with the tempo and overall feel of the songs. This song is a great 'party' song, and you'd have to be having a really bad day not to enjoy this classic Green Day feeling song. 8/10

7. Still Breathing - The most radio friendly song on the album (aside from maybe Ordinary World). Like a couple of other songs on the album, really provides a new sound and feel for the band. Deeply personally, incredibly hooky and relatable. A great addition to the discography and potential live staple to their shows. 8/10

8. Young Blood - The most fun, and most upbeat song on the record. If you have a crush, or are in a happy relationship, you'll love this song. Even if you aren't, it's a catchy as hell and has a classic Green Day vibe that is sure to please. 8/10

9. Too Dumb To Die - Similar to Youngblood and Bouncing off the wall in tempo and feel, another song that will please the everyday Green Day fan with it's upbeat tempo and fun as hell sing-a-long hooks. At the same, this one didn't quite reach the heights as the other 2 for me, so I'm giving it a 7/10

10. Troubled times - As much as this is a decent rock song, it didn't really do too much for me and felt pretty filler. Normally a Green Day album will have a couple of these for me, but this is honestly the only I kind of lost my engagement with. It still has a chance to grow on me, but it just felt little repetitive and the melody lacked a bit. 6/10

11. Forever Now - The build ups and surprises in the song are incredible. I love all of their suites and this song is no exception. Another 'Who' influenced opera, and anyone who enjoys Homecoming and American Eulogy will be sure to dig this masterpiece. It's almost too much, in a good way. 9.5/10

12. Ordinary World - This song is perfect, and could potentially reach the heights of Time Of Your Life if promoted as a single. 10/10

I think it's gonna take some time and a few more listens for the average person to understand how good this album is. I don't really know why they aren't calling this their 3rd opera, because to me, that's exactly what it is. I actually feel it's as close to American Idiot as they could have possible got and I'm sure this will be a HUGE album for them. I really can't see how it wouldn't be.. I just don't know of any other bands that come even close to this level of writing, and the pop music that's out there just doesn't compare. This album is FANTASTIC! 96/120 - 80% ****

You know you can get malware and shit from just pulling the trigger randomly like that though right? :P

I think by this point everyone agrees that the band just weren't satisfied with C&V and decided to start from scratch. Although rumour has it a few of those songs found their way onto the trilogy, I can't remember which ones people were saying though.

Typical of something like this to happen the second I get to work! Looking forward to checking it out. I was going to hold off until the release, but I'm weak and way too excited to hear it. It's a real shame it did leak though, especially this soon. Obviously I'll be buying it the day it comes out anyway, because I'm a completist.

I think GDA's lyrics are wrong in Somewhere Now

"I shot the line" isn't it "I shop online"... I just think that makes more sense

Is it okay to ask how large the filesize is for Revolution Radio? I want to find a leak but want to make sure I download a legit one.
