Chin for a Day
Just now, Chanderson said: This is a very experimental record, which means there will be a lot of people who love it and a lot of people who don't. Troubled Times is definitely the one that popped out to me after first listen. As a whole, the album is great. The way they approached this album reminds me of Warning. Experimentation and self-production. Can't wait for this to grow on me. I am listening to Troubled Times on repeat

It feels like celebrities often die in threes, so it's like a superstition of sorts. It feels like there have been many instances where three very famous folks will die in the span of a month or so. Sarahnade
Of the songs that we hadn't previously heard, Say Goodbye, Too Dumb to Die and Ordinary World are my favorites on first listen. Haven't decided whether or not I'll listen again before Oct. 7th.

It is kind of a joke that celebrities always die in threes. You will hear that a celebrity died and the next day another, and the next day another. So in the US we kind of always say they die in threes
Westside Highway
Only on Too Dumb to Die but heres some thoughts: Unpopular opinion: Still Breathing is the best single since AI era. Unpopular opinion #2: Say Goodbye sucks and totally kills the momentum of the album Youngblood is fucking great I dont love outlaws but i feel like itll grow on me Somewhere now feels kind of disjointed between verse and chorus but rocks Bouncing off the wall is a lot of fun This album sounds nothing like Dookie. Tbh if someone told me this was Cigarettes and Valentines id believe them. It took sounds like an album made either right before or right after American Idiot
madafaka
I write these as I listen to the tracks. Kind of as a stream of consciousness. Somewhere Now. Definitely has the best acoustic guitar of any Green Day song to date! Wow, that chorus came out of nowhere, so cool! Decent song, with room to grow on me! Strong opener. Say Goodbye. I'm not impressed at first. I don't particularly enjoy that muffled sound they are going for. Totally made a 180 when the first chorus hit! Very good song. Outlaws. That muffled sound again, why!? Kind of works for this one though. Mmmh, very soothing... WHAT'S WITH THE DAMN SUDDEN CHORUSES? ARE YOU TRYING TO PUT ME INTO CARDIAC ARREST? I will definitely be putting this on repeat tonight when I'm going to sleep. Kinda like the love child of Wild One and Dark Side of Night (FBHT). Very nice finish, and a good song, that will definitely grow on me. Too much going on to take in on the first listen. Bouncing Off the Wall. Ooh, a fun song. I'm taken back to the late 90's/early 00's, the good old days of Pop Punk (not necessarily Green Day). Still Breathing. I kind of zoned out during Bang Bang and Revolution Radio because I've already heard them. This song is so damn good that I still can't help but get pulled into it though. Even with the prospect of five new songs coming up after it, it still had my full attention. I don't expect anything on the record to beat it. It's on track 7 as well. The classic spot for the "big radio ballad" in the industry. Youngblood. Weakest track so far, still alright though. Feels kind of like She's a Rebel to me! Alright, it's growing on me. It's kind of cute. FUCK YEAH, YOU'RE FROM OAKLAND! Fun song! Too Dumb to Die. A trend is going on with the muffled intros. Alright, I can dig it I guess, if it's going to be a whole thing! Weakest track so far. The chorus is alright though. Definitely not bad! Troubled Times. Alright we're in the "filler section" of the album, with these last three tracks. This one is on par with Too Dumb to Die. I hope it picks up some momentum on the last two! Not that impressed with this one, but it has some nice moments. I feel some of the spirit of DOS still lives on in a few of these songs! Forever Now. Alright, the long one. Here we go! Is it gonna be a multi-parter? "From the edge of the world" sounds nice! Nothing new happening so far. Am I setting myself up for disappointment? Alright, something's happening! Oh wait, just a solo... Alright, there it was. It's definitely the new Dirty Rotten Bastards! Somewhere Now is back! Full circle, nice touch! Wait?! SOMEWHERE NOW/FOREVER NOW. Should've seen it coming. It's in the titles... Good to see they still have that rock opera spirit of tying the songs together. Good song, but can't give a fulfilling review from just one listen. I feel like I liked the first part the best though. Ordinary World. Curious to see if he added anything to it since he played it live. Good so far. "Mmmmmhmmmh". Strings... classic! Nice distant vocals. Lovely song, but it didn't blow me away because I had already heard it, and it was kind of what I expected. Well, that's that. Another Green Day album in the bag! Can't wait to listen to the good ones again right away, and to have the rest of them grow on me for the next couple of days! Overall a great album. More so than I expected. Well, more than I expected before I heard Still Breathing. That song definitely got my hopes way up for the album. No bad songs, and at least 5 great songs. A contender for top 3 Green Day albums of all times, but I can't make that judgement unbiased until at least a year down the line.

Grinch
I love the transition from Somewhere Now jumping right into Bang Bang and how it contrasts the songs. Gets me super pumped up and I wouldn't mind if they did this live.

Noahhaon
I really appreciate the fact that most songs are very original in the sense that they do not follow a standard format (with some major exceptions), it just surprises me constantly. For me it is a perfect evolution of their sound, the seriousness of American Idiot but with some more classic and mature influences, without losing their 90's energy. Juls
I think the beginning of Somewhere Now is beautiful. Billie's singing in it is gorgeous, some of his best vocals imo. I love the sort of Celtic lilt to it. I'm from Ireland and it reminds me of some of the old Irish folk songs I grew up hearing and playing as a child. Come to think of it, I can also hear a kind of Celtic influence in Say Goodbye too, in the rhythm at the beginning and in those "ooooh-oooh-oooh" bits after the chorus.
