It's a terrible headline. And I was hoping they'd be on the cover! Waaaah!

As we learned from the RRHofF inductions, whatever Sir Paul wants comes first

for everyone talking about the new rolling stone... i know the cover says August 25th, but it will probably be out tomorrow. The August 11th issue came out 2 weeks ago, I'm sure they planned for the article to come out the same day as the single.

This would make a lot of sense.
I may just pop into B&N or some other store and check it out tomorrow.

Let's save that cover story for when the album comes out

It'd make more impact if associated with the release of the new album. So I'm expecting a brief review of Bang Bang/bands return and hopefully GD on the cover when the album is released.

It was posted 1 minute ago and the date is 2016... do they reuse stories often? (I think I can remember the title in 2013 being "Road back from hell" but I might be wrong)

Edit: yeah just clicked your link now... it's a new article

just using the same words but its a whole different cover and this time its about green day and not billie joe.

but it's funny how they can't think of a  new title xD

The point of the cover is to sell issues. While I like the title and its cleverness, I bet the article's title is different.

Should have been "Green Day: Even more back from hell"

or "Green Day: Backer from hell"

or "Green Day: Backer from heller"

Someone should hire me for creative titles.

The actual title was: Billie Joe: The Road Back from Hell.  So, I guess they think they are being creative or they think Green Day fans have short memories

The headline doesn't make sense, who writes this stuff!

Lol. RS should hire you indeed.

I think the average person is not going to read that as the trilogy sucked, but just that they're ramping up again as a band after Billie Joe's public meltdown/battles with addiction. Backer from Hell would've had so much more... zing

I love the title and I think the burning tape deck looks awesome, whatever it's for. I wouldn't mind at all if it was an element of the album cover.

Feels so good to be on the brink of another new Green Day era!

This is basically what I think. I love the sound of Revolution Radio! Like, GD taking over the airwaves or hi-jacking a station or something.

Not sure about the title, though. Feels kinda like a really generic Green Day-phrase, but maybe it'll grow on me.

I actually think that's part of the reason I like it so much. It's so them.

"Green Day: Purgatory, we're halfway there."

Yeah I'll not give up my day job just yet

I think the title pretty coherent. See, for the last four years we have not been very easy for Green Day. Brittney and Jason's cancer, billie's collapse, the trilogy's failure ...

so last week billie posted a pic of a setlist on instagram

if you look to the middle right, under what I'm guessing is murder city, there's a track that starts with "say."

I can't think of a green day song that starts like that. think this is a new track, or am I forgetting something?

It's reasonable to say it's new, we covered this in the (incredibly fast-moving) Bang Bang thread when it was first posted.

Welcome to the forum by the way, you got in quick with the name there :P

I just assume that means Green Day is gonna be covering Say You Will by Kanye West.

I'm thinking the hashtags on Billie's latest Instagram post could possibly be song titles. I Get My Kicks, I Gotta Fever, and (maybe) Hurrah Hurrah.

Or maybe just song lyrics?

Green Day's new album could be a sequel to the Meat Loaf albums.   THAT would be original:

Bat out of Hell IV:  Green Day Fly for their Lives!

Backer from Hell is my favorite though.
