Everyone got so excited when they read that review while all this time we've all agreed green day need to do something new and fresh :P

Anyway I've learned to not trust the DJs about how a single sounds because they're never right. Especially since it says it sounds like dookie. Ever since I remember reading green day reviews people say stuff sounding like that record when it doesn't sound like it at all. If it said something like "it soudns like nimrod or insomniac' it would be easier to believe.
Also the trilogy was supposed to be a back to the roots attempt  I don't want another one :(

The austrian radio stations know about the upcoming release from green day but they are not quite sure if they will play it.

Well, to hell with the review. I don't want stuff like Dookie or like AI or like 21stCB. I want something groundbreaking but not similar to any of the previous stuff. Something completely new. Like they did with AI or Dookie. So, that this record can be compared to their future records. :P

but how the hell it's not gonna be similar to any old stuff? I mean it's not impossible but so hard. They have done 12 albums in the past ,they even tried rap. Billie wrote tons of different  songs. In some way , it'll have to resemble some of old stuff ,even for a bit. it's not as simple as they're making their second album. And to see how fans react to different styles (they hate it . i.e:warning) ..

in short i think there is no problem with some similarity

GDC doesn't agree on anything. Ever.

I'm not jumping to any conclusions based off one person's opinion of what the song sounds like. People also said Uno sounded like Dookie before it came out, and obviously a lot of people ended up disagreeing with that. I'm sure whatever the song ends up being, it'll be good. :)

I think the only sure thing we can get out of this review is that the song is going to be fast paced.

if so this single could be better than Oh Love .. atleast for me :D

Well to satisfy Billie Joe, I'm going to write this now:

They need to make a record like Dookie again. Fucking *put your least favorite record's name in here* sucked. But you know, Billie Joe is fucking hot!

I bet he likes being worshipped and called a sexgod tho, who wouldn't. I wouldn't mind people calling me hot all the time :P

I have no doubt that the album will be new and fresh. But it's a HUGE relief to hear that they're apparently going back to what they used to be. And at this point, sounding like they used to is refreshing :)

I think they're apologizing for tweeting that fake video and that something is coming tomorrow?

"You do not hate me too, really we tell us how to do it tomorrow, stay tuned!"

Well sounding like they used to.. I dont know. I dont really have any expactations, they grew older, some fans did grow older xD they cant sound like fuckin 25 again, but i dont even want that. im curious about what its going to be like and i dont need no fuckin radio dj comparing it to chump or welcome to paradise. comparing songs is like comparing your children to other peoples kids. not workin. experiences and lifestyle have a huge impact on your development (child or musician or whatever) xD

damn i suck at explaining, but i guess you get me

oh i forgot to add "but fucking billie joe is so fucking hot" :P

we can make it a game like adding "in your pants" to every sentence

Exactly.

We're also the most well-listened Green Day fans around. We know the exact difference between AI sound Dookie sound and Uno sound. A lot of other people will not nuance their opinions to our level of absurdity dedication. I think it's going to be impossible to really say what it sounds like 'til we hear the damn thing

Yep, they'll tell us how to listen to the song before release tomorrow.
I'm curious if they are gonna let us hear the song tomorrow, show a snippet or just point us to some radio station that will air it on like august 10th

Fully expecting Warner Spain to reveal just a snippet of the song.

That is my thought as well.

Person on top asked if it will be blocked for people in countries other than Spain or if anyone outside of Spain can listen.
WMSpain states that only the fans that reside in Spain will have the option to listen. Time to set up those VPNs...

I'm really excited to hear the new song too, but more so for things like guitar and drum tones.. and to see how Billie's voice and singing has evolved. I'm sure we can all count on well written songs we all like, but I wouldn't get too exited about a DJ who probably doesn't like Green Day nearly as much as we do saying 'It sounds like old Green Day so fans will love it'.

However, it is nice to know someone outside of their circle has heard and enjoys it 😀 But the odds of it being another Dookie or AI are slim to none at best.

I edited my GDA post about the "review" to include this, addressing the debate on "sound."

Of course, there is always confusion when someone mentions "sounds like ." "Sounds like" is definitely up for interpretation on what the writer means. "Sound" could refer to the auditory/sonic values of a song, or it could refer to the song structure and simpleness of it. Until we actually hear the song with our own ears, I will reserve judgement on what I think it should "sound" like.
