Bang bang will probably be as much like dookie as know your enemy is:

-raw guitar sound

-easy riffs

-easy drums

-kinda repetitive but catchy!

this review definitely has me excited, the radio needs more fast stuff on it! I hope it has heavy sounding guitars. I bet the raw sound was very intentional, and probably the reason they didn't record at jingletown this time around. I don't think it will sound like demolicious, but it's not gunna sound like the trilogy either

and while I'm excited about an old school vibe, you AI and 21st people shouldn't worry, it's just the lead off single, look how the rest of those albums sounded compared to their lead off singles, American Idiot and Know Your Enemy. pretty different. maybe bang bang is only one of 3 or 4 hard edged songs on the album

well ... by the video posted yesterday by Tré Cool, seems like a fast song. But the only thing I can think right now is: they are back!

That's also what i thought of! Maybe the single is different to the rest of the album. Tbh it seems very likely that it will be different. :)

I love Dookie, I really do. But it's not 1994 anymore.. Leave the past in the past.. I want a new stuff.. Green Day grow up mentally and musically. The way they worked in 21cb was amazing, then came the trilogy and now something new!

Let's move on!!!

Even if the sound is like Dookie, I'm sure the lyrical quality of 21CB and AI will be there, especially if it's a political album

Yup, and let's face it it's totally going to be a political heavy album.

I really don't think it'll sound so much like Dookie that there'll be an issue with it sounding exactly the same. I'm not sure they'd even be able to replicate it exactly now since they've evolved so much. It probably just has elements of the Dookie sound, or it's a case of the reviewer doing the "it sounds like Dookie!!!" thing.

I suppose it could be a "more mature Dookie". I'd love it if it'll has Dookie's sounds with AI's lyrics.

I'm sure the Dookie references are referring to the simplicity and structure of the song. When taken that way, most of UNO was "like Dookie." Intro riff, verse, pre-chorus, chorus, verse, pre-chorus, chorus, bridge/breakdown, chorus x2, end.

Same here, i mean, it would be kinda stupid if Billie tried to copy his dookie-singing on the new record. I think that this would be the main thing that will make it completely different to dookie. Even if evereything else (instrumental) sounded just like dookie. It will still be something different just because of billies current voice

I think he speeded up the video. No original speed!

That review...   I've been trying to temper my excitement for new material because of how disappointing the Trilogy (album and tour) was for me.  It's getting really hard!  I feel like all my emotional eggs are in one basket!

well the hype took a turn and is bumming me out we wont know anything about it until we hear it no matter how intricate the descriptions. It can sound like dookie but not be sung that way it can sound like it and still show their growth throughout the bands career, we dont know anything yet peeps you may like it even if the way it has been described so far aint your cup o tea. STAY OPTIMISTIC

Maybe the guy tried to describe that the drive of the song is comparable with Dookie, or at least the songs he pointed out from that album.

That's definitely what I got from the review

Well, to hell with the review. I don't want stuff like Dookie or like AI or like 21stCB. I want something groundbreaking but not similar to any of the previous stuff. Something completely new. Like they did with AI or Dookie. So, that this record can be compared to their future records. :P

What I want to hear is a full album of songs which has the same tempo and feel like Letterbomb. That would be awesome

The album is going to be fucking amazing, so will be their first single, it will bring back the Oldie-Green Day and you will be very, very satisfied!
