Someone replied to the Warner Music Spain tweet saying "Have you listen to it? Is the song fast?"

and Warner answered: "You're totally not in the wrong way ;)"

AHHHHHHHHHHH :woot:

I'm not hoping for any specific sound but just hearing about the sound at all makes it seem more real and exciting.

Didn't the Trilogy get compared to Dookie before it was out too? haha

Yep, that's why I'm saving all judgement of the song until I hear it. Bang Bang being compared to Dookie could mean so many different things.

So that means it is fast?

Yes.

Well for years people have been asking them to go back to the Dookie sound. Maybe they finally have

Although maybe not. GD do tend to do whatever the fuck they want

I didn't know how to translate it correctly hahah but yeah.

Meaning the guy is right and surely it's not going to be a ballad hahaha.

Well hopefully it will be a little faster than most of the songs in the trilogy! (Not saying the trilogy is bad, I just want some more power)

I agree the trilogy just didnt seem to have as much punch as previous albums. Though part of that also kinda seemed to be due to lousy production

Doesn't every Green Day album get compared to Dookie, just for the hype

I hope you trilogy-obsessed don't reply in your usual conversations : "Well, yeah, but the trilogy ...(choose how to continue the answer)":)

Maybe some songs will be from Cigarettes and Valentines since Wikipedia says that "Musically, the material on Cigarettes and Valentines was hard, "quick-tempoed punk" songs in the vein of Green Day's Kerplunk and Insomniac" and the article compared the new song to their older material

Since his first impression is all we have Id like to think its not only similar sounding to Dookie but hopefully with all the added goodness they've learned over the years being musicians.. so maybe its like a remastered video game type deal.. some old school shit with a mix of present stuff creating some really great shiff? either way Im excited beyond belief!

The reviewer compared it to welcome to paradise, chump, and burnout. That's very exciting!

What reviewer?

Cigarettes and Valentines and Too Much Too Soon certainly fit that description.

Maybe there will even be a studio version of C&V the song on the album. I doubt it but it's possible

It would be nice as a bonus song.

It maybe still political but with the raw sound of kerplunk and dookie!

Yes! That's what I've been clamoring for since the beginning. Let's hope it turns out to be true.

Remember how some reviews of "Know Your Enemy" said it sounded like an out-take from Dookie?

I feel like everyone wants to say a new Green Day song sounds like something from Dookie but then it never sounds like it could have been on Dookie.

Well I wasn't around here for the release of Know Your Enemy so I didn't know that people said that...

Now I'm worried that it won't sound old-school....

WHY DID YOU HAVE TO SPOIL THE FUN!!!!

you definitely could also apply that to some songs in AI and 21CB.
