I really hope the single doesnt get leaked before the 11th. Nowadays it feels like everything gets leaked and i fucking hate it. Respect the artists and let them release it when they want it released.

"Bang Bang" - is the sound of Billie destroying "pop-punk".

Bang Bang pop punk is dead

Maybe Billie's inclusion of the #mynewband is his way of hinting that it's a totally new sound for GD?

I think that he wanted to promote his idea.

Yeah, that depends on how many songs there are on the album. If it's gonna be 18 tracks, a little something different could be great!

i dont see them having more than 15 tracks max

this time its more like: quality > quantity

btw .. nearly 50 pages and this thread isnt even 24hours old, good job  the hype is real

I'm kinda optimistic about this upcoming song and album. We're living hard times all over the world, there has been many of hose massacre incidents, Trump rallying for president etc. Billie Joe is lyrical genius and he can squeeze out the best of it. I mean that these hard times can inspire him to write more political album than the last four albums, and I personally would like it! There's nothing political in the current mainstream music scene. Everything is uninspired boring R'nB stuff. Also I think that the Trilogy didn't have much passion. Tre had few good songs musically. Billie can do better. I want them to shake the music industry once again, they're still that kind of band who can do it.

I wonder if the album will have references to the recent tragedies like the Isis attacks or the murder of Christina Grimmie. Or the question should be, do you think there will be direct or indirect references?

I really hope that they connect some songs together like they did with BOBD and Holiday because it's so awesome going through the whole album and have a feeling like it's a movie without the visuals.

Do you guys think a physical release of the first single is plausible?

I hope there's a physical release, but I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't one.

Only if there are b-sides is my assumption. But I certainly hope so, since I'm a singles collector.

We'll see. Nowadays no artist dares to say anything serious about anything. For example, American Idiot and Holiday told about problems and what's wrong with USA, Iraq War and Geroge W. Bush. There's not such a movement anymore. Everything is just blank, or at least that's how I see mainstream music at the moment. I don't mean that the band has to fit in the current mainstream and radio, but it would be really cool to see them there again.

Do bands not usually do physical releases of singles anymore?

I personally doubt it. Few bands still do physical single releases. It would almost certainly require a B-side track, which they haven't done  on their post-21CB singles.

The trilogy had physical releases, so sure!

Oh. I didn't know that. I've always liked to look at physical singles, because they usually come with great covers.

Yes, me too. I really hope they'll keep this tradition running.

Well, sometimes lead singles are still released on CD (Oh Love and Stray Heart apparently were), but the market for it is rather limited, making it uneconomical for most labels. Casual fans mostly buy digital and most of us here will probably just buy the album in its entirety on CD or vinyl.

I hope all the people who think the album will be about ISIS attacks, guns, Donald Trump and the murder of Grimmie (for some reason) or any other disturbing event in the recent past won't be all too disappointed when it won't. I do have a feeling that this album will be more political than the Trilogy but I can't really see him doing a musical recap of the past four years or so...

A page I follow uploaded a picture with this caption.. Is it new or not?

The punk rocker turned photographer shoots some of our favourite bands.

If you’ve ever worn a studded belt or wallet chain, then Jonathan Weiner‘s edition of Frames will have you seething with jealousy – filled with a who’s who of punk rock, emo and beyond.

Hailing from Washington DC – shouts to Minor Threat – Jonathan began shooting when he was 14 years old, documenting live shows and his mates’ bands. Since then, he’s moved to Los Angeles and evolved into more of a portrait photographer, with his work being turned into album art and magazine covers. His Frames feature below sees some of the huge artists he’s worked with thus far – including everyone from Green Day to Thursday to Steve Aoki. Cool story: Mr. Aoki has a Gorilla Biscuits tattoo!

Of course, working with bands of this calibre is always a little unpredictable, as Jonathan explains:

“There is such a challenge in shooting personalities that comes with never being able to truly plan for what is going to happen. I am quite OCD and a control freak, so I love the combination of being able to control my environment while always having to adapt to whatever happens and collaborate with my subjects on the spot to create something unique and in the moment.”

See some of the amazing artists that Jonathan has shot below along with the accompanying stories, while you can also see more of his impressive shots over on Instagram. We’ve got Dookie on repeat for the rest of the day:

*(Insert PHOTO of Green Day by Jonathan Weiner)....
Green Day: Working with these guys is fantastic. They are so pro, all you have to worry about is making sure you are ready to go when they arrive and they will create something great.

EDIT: I think it's from the trilogy. The styling looks like it, but I thought id' post it just in case. The B & W might kinda be from this era
