Sixtrix
The DJ of 3FM just mentioned that tomorrow Bang Bang will premiere, but he didn't mention a time. He did say he just searched on the Internet for a possible leak but only found the fake teasers on YouTube. I just like the thought that even a radio DJ is anxious for an early leak. Norway has always been known more for its prolific black metal scene. But hey, Billie didn't write the script. It's hard to believe that we're only about a day from the release of "Bang Bang"! Honestly, I haven't bothered to phone my local radio station to inquire about when the song will be played because I'm pretty sure that I'll be able to find it pretty much anywhere come tomorrow. Steven Seagull
Am I the only one here who would rather see something like Dos than something like AI and 21st Century Flopdown? I'm still hoping they are going for that early raw sound.

The review seems to be all over the place. He never said it sounded like DOS. He said "If I had to put it in an album I'd probably go with the trilogy. Probably, ¡DOS!; but it could very well be in AI or 21CB for sure. It feels like the right next step (evolution-wise) for the sound they've been developing." Worry not. sampy
American Idiot was masterpiece as an album and a single. I'd love to see same kind of success with Bang Bang. And if it's heavily political, hopefully it's THE political anthem of this era, like American Idiot was 12 years ago.

If I have to interpret that sentence (and I understand that at this point this could be useless) I think it may refer to a raw sound/style. And, despite what Seagull believe, I think this could match perfectly with an evolution of the AI atmosphere combined with a fast punkish song structure, which could explain the previous review. But maybe I'm reading too much into this
Harry Potter.
You shouldn't think too much about the reviews. They're always comparing but in reality new songs usually sound like their own thing, therefore if they say it sounds like Dookie you shouldn't start expecting Chump 2.0. But the first guy gave us way more detail about the sound than what this guy gave us (I still think he just made that shit up). He said the sound could be the closest to Dookie, but not When I Come Around Dookie. He said it's like a mix of Welcome To Paradise, Burnout and Chump. I have no idea how that could sound like something on AI to the second guy. Also because the first guy said the sound is raw like Kerplunk and 1,039. The first guy saying Bang Bang "sounds like" a bunch of songs is still extremely vague. You can't know exactly what he meant, so we don't know if it excludes the possibility of it sounding like something from AI.

We also should realize that reviews and opinions can be very different.... The DJ said it reminded him of Dookie then this person said it could be on Dos, AI or 21CB. I wouldn't be surprised if another person after listening to the song says it reminds them of Nimrod

sampy
And if those people who had chance to listen to the song already aren't familiar with the band, they can easily link it to the earlier songs. Oh Love, 21 Guns and WMUWSE were radio hits, but slow songs. If they're more familiar with them, and since Bang Bang isn't slow one, they can give an example of their older and more punk-ish songs. GenXIdiot
For once I'd love for a DJ that actually knew something about music to review the song. How can a song sound like AI, 21CB, AND Dos??? That doesn't even make sense.
