New song "Bang Bang" coming August 11th

About all the review stuff, don't believe anything they write. Most of these guys either want to get readers and write down anything we want to hear (early Green Day or just like AI).

Or the guys want to hear early Green Day/AI so they can write about it. It's never objective and that's mainly because the average Green Day listening person doesn't want to read "it's just like Warning or just like the Trilogy" because those albums weren't as much of a success.

I'll be waiting and hear the judgement of you guys or my own experience when I listen it. The boys and girls of the GDC know what's up😁 (atleast we do better than aversge music critics, who want to please the masses)

This last review made me extremely excited. It would be almost everything I want to hear. Fast as the old works, political as AI, raw as some DOS tracks, still fresh and modern.

I will definitely not believe them and wait 29 hours. I must. 29 hours :runaround:

True... :D I admire your self control tbh. I promised myself I wouldn't look and did so anyway...

That's not even an official review so I still trust that DJ who said it sounds like Kerplunk/1,039

Exactly.  I wanna hear it the first time with my own ears, not with preconceived ideas about what it'll sound like based on someone else's opinion.

How do people plan on recording the song so that we can hear it online? I'm guessing that the radio stations stream live online as well which will give us a higher quality sound.

I can't see a fan-recorded version lasting longer than 5 minutes on YouTube before it's taken down.  Surely we'll get the official (YouTube) release quickly enough that recording the radio will become irrelevant.

That review has made me so happy, I really hope it is more correct than the first one.  I really am excited about tomorrow.

If they listened to the song just one time they could have had different feelings about similarities with previous works and so on. I think it's normal. Trying to believe both of them the only two things not in contrast are that the song is fast and that it is politically charged (the first review didn't say anything about the lyrics).

So, here's what we know from the reviews:

-Sounds like 39/Smooth
-Sounds like Kerplunk
-Sounds like Dookie
-Sounds like American Idiot
-Sounds like 21st Century Breakdown
-Sounds like Dos

Last time I checked, all these albums have their own unique personality/drastically different sound. Stop reading so much into these reviews of "Bang Bang" and just draw your own conclusions when the song comes out.

That preview / review has made me EVEN MORE EXCITED, if possible! I'm glad it's fast and suggestive, I'm glad it's political, and I'm very happy with the comparisons to iDos, AI, 21st CB and Pacemaker! Bring on tomorrow :)

Well,  I just listened to 21st CB and that album is actually the GD album that never got to me... I listen to UNO as I'm writing this and I truly love most of the songs on it!  As for Bang Bang, I hope to hear a truly great melodic punk song.

If there are any Irish fans reading this thread, I just got confirmation that Today FM will be playing it tomorrow after 2:30 on the Fergal D'Arcy show :)

Do you guys think it's going to leak today?

They've been able to keep it off the street this long. I really REALLY hope it won't leak so the first listen will be tomorrow world-wide simultaneously-ish

Don't think it will.  Wouldn't be surprised if it does.
