That's your problem right there. Most people aren't. I will say that I remember the excitement of listening to American Idiot on the radio when it came out. There was something very cool to know that people all over the country were listening to something at the same time as me.

As soon as you said "MP3" in same the statement as "I'm a snob for audio quality" and "Sennheiser headphones," you lost the argument. Along with the expletives.

Listening to a premiere on the radio is so cool. It's the one time you get to hear your all-time favorite band being played on dozens of stations nationally at the exact same time with hundreds of thousands of people listening in, whether they meant to or not.

I guess I just don't get the excitement of the whole "listening to something at the same time as everybody else" thing....especially on terrestrial radio. I mean, I wouldn't want to hear something on the radio if it was going to have any type of censorship in it. Why would you want you very first listen of the song to not even be the complete song? That just doesn't make sense to me. In my opinion, "he subliminal mindfuck America" and "well maybe I'm the faggot, America" are the two most powerful lyrics in American Idiot, and they are censored on the radio. I'm fine hearing it censored now, but I would not have wanted my very first listen to be spoiled by that.

It's all about the feeling and the memory you'll have afterwards when looking back at that moment you first listened to the song where you know exactly where you were and how you were listening to it.

It's different for everyone.

What about the Warner spain, some News?

Apparently they contacted the 20 winners yesterday. They will go to Warner's office in Madrid tomorrow to listen to the song.

Same deal for Argentina.

If quality is so concerning just go on a radio station website? Their streams don't sound THAT bad compared to actually tuning into the station. The webstreams are usually like 192kbps compared to an estimated 96kbps.

Does anyone in Finland hope to hear it on the radio? I don't listen to the radio at all anymore, but it would be cool to hear it like that for old times' sake.

I don't care if you can't listen to the song played in the highest possible quality through studio monitors or a $5000 headset. Just listen to the song and put your audiophile to the side. Once it's played it'll probably be available for download so you can grab a high quality file in good conscience because you're going to buy the album anyway.

Green Day have a history of profanity, there's a decent chance it will be.

Exactly. No one knows if it has explicit lyrics.

Just downloaded the Kerrang radio app to iPad (thinking of sneakin it into work Thursday), guess what track was playing - Know your enemy. They also said just after, about Bang Bang being played for the first time Thursday night and all week, I think he said.

Why am I not surprised that the biggest thing to happen here over the last few pages is a debate about why audio quality on radio stations isn't good enough...

...I'd listen to this song through a crusted loudspeaker on a 2005 flip-phone if I had to.

Stated it over and over just a simple discussion. People are willing to wait a very short amount of time to hear it on youtube. If you don't agree and think it's silly then don't worry about it. :)
