Some countries should have Bang Bang on iTunes fairly early if that is the goal to put it up  on the 11th. Otherwise US gets it later :/

These days, the person in control of the release can hit a button and it goes live in all iTunes Stores (all regions) as well as Apple Music and Spotify, meant for situations like this where they want a controlled, all-at-once, release.

So I'll assume it'll be up around an hour after the radio-exclusive premiere on streaming services and music stores. Probably earlier via Green Day YouTube or SoundCloud.

Not really. I don't know if Green Day is the only band you checking for and it's been 4 years so you may forget. MANY times you could go to the Russian or New Zealand iTunes stores and everything is posted already when I wake up in the morning lets just saw like 8 am PST. USA would get it at normal refresh time of 8PM EST. I never seen it all update at once. Many artists arent even aware that their music has already hit the store in other countries.

Fuck listening to the song on the radio. I seriously don't understand this obsession. Personally, I'm a snob for quality audio, and you don't fucking get that on the radio or a radio stream. It'll sound like shit. I'll have my Sennheiser headphones on, listening to (hopefully) an MP3, or if I have to, YouTube (not as great as MP3 but a fuck ton better quality than radio).

It'd be awesome if they posted a lyric video. And I guess that even if I listen to it first on the radio, my mind won't filter much, so I'll just end up listening to it like 50 times on YouTube after that

I'm thinking the lyric video is probably on their YouTube right now set to private, ready to be unleashed on the world Thursday at 10 AM EST.

I don't understand what's the big deal about hearing it on the radio. I was actually thinking about that on my walk home today. Of course, if you're just sitting around at home it might be a good idea to tune in, but otherwise you basically gotta work your day around the premiere and it just doesn't make much sense to me. Still excited to hear the song, and I don't care if I'll be the 78975th listener on youtube or whatever.

Hoping they don't post a lyric video. I find those to be really cheesy. It ruined oh love for me when I first listened to it. im hoping for an (unlikely) badass music video

Fair point, radio quality is terrible

I know I won't hear the song during the day on Thursday as I can't stream at work.  And since Thursday night is date night with no computers, it will probably be early Friday morning or evening before I hear it.  And by then, this thread will have an additional 100 pages loving/hating it.  I can't win this race.  :(

That's your problem right there. Most people aren't. I will say that I remember the excitement of listening to American Idiot on the radio when it came out. There was something very cool to know that people all over the country were listening to something at the same time as me.

Yes really, actually. What you're saying is true for planned releases, such as an album or an EP. But for "surprise" or controlled releases such as what "BANG BANG" will be, they can flip the switch and then it distributes out the stores. My most recent experience with this is Blink-182's "Rabbit Hole." It premiered at something like 12pm ET on Beats 1 and then about an hour later, it was on iTunes and Apple Music... Spotify a little later.

Btw, Green Day is in no way the only band I anticipate new releases from.

Yeah, I see your point there. And now that you mentioned it, a full music video would indeed be much more welcome, but I don't think it'll be the case this week... I think they would renew the hype by announcing a video for an upcoming date near

As soon as you said "MP3" in same the statement as "I'm a snob for audio quality" and "Sennheiser headphones," you lost the argument. Along with the expletives.

Listening to a premiere on the radio is so cool. It's the one time you get to hear your all-time favorite band being played on dozens of stations nationally at the exact same time with hundreds of thousands of people listening in, whether they meant to or not.

I don't give a shit who else is listening when. I love music and I love quality audio. When I'm this excited for a song I'm sure as hell not going to listen to a radio or stream if I have the option to hear it in all its glory.

Date night?  Yeah, I've been thinking about asking hubby about that.  We'll see if that works!

Although if it gets posted here (please!) I might be able to listen on my phone on a break at work.

Oh god we're about to have an audiophile fight. Everyone loses!

I don't care about the format.  I just want to hear it.  :)

My thought exactly, I'll listen to the YouTube one obviously but I won't download it or anything because I'd rather rip a lossless WAV off a CD release. I'm not even an "audiophile", I just listen to things enough that I can tell when something's missing.
