New song "Bang Bang" coming August 11th

So around 5 pages back, someone mentioned WM Argentina and WM Spain-

The Argentina account may be fan -run because of the contact email. However, they never said they were doing a contest (unless they posted more since way back when), just to give their tweet a like if people would like for them to host a contest. Nothing was ever concrete.

The Spain account on the other hand... well, it was verified before the twitter verification application was a thing. I just scrolled through the most recent tweets and replies, and turns out they emailed people that won the contest yesterday. If they hadn't confirmed, or couldnt attend, at 2pm (time in Spain), they'd contact others, hence tweets asking for people to DM them.

The "Kill your television " thing reminds me of 2 songs.

Radio Gaga by queen ( when we grow tired of all the visual) and Video killed the radio star.

they both contrast the Tv with the radio. Could we be having something similar with Bang Bang and more specifically Revolution Radio?

I'm thinking that it will be lyrics in either Bang Bang, or maybe some other new song. Or maybe a new song altogether, but probably from Bang Bang, since it's the one that's closest to us. This gotta be a killer song!

I don't even know if there are any Canadian radios that will be playing the song. I tried asking but none of them replied.

92 CITI FM in Winnipeg is :)

That's some cool bass!

Buzzcocks always had good bass, even after the reformation without the original bass & drums (though it is noticeable that the drums are lacking when John Maher isn't playing them), as far as punk bands go their ability to actually play well is underrated. That album is especially underrated, it was their first after they reformed in the 90s and it's just great (also the one after that was produced by Rob Cavallo, if the mods need a Green Day link :P ).

Lol It's so obviously Walking Contradiction mixed with bass from Armatage Shanks...that's what the setlist was for!

Did WMMR say anything about the time they'll premiere the song? I downloaded their app and it's so easy to listen to their streaming that I don't want to have to listen to another radio :P

I guess it's a more immersive experience to listen to at your country's radio. You hear people that speak the same language as you talking about your favorite band. It's not just about listening to the song I guess

Definitely. I'm a total Green Day loner where I live and can't imagine them being a great subject on local radio

I totally get that but I figure I might die of old age before it gets played somewhere on the radio so it's not an option :P

Yeah it's not the end of the world if we can't hear it on the radio, but there's something much more exciting about hearing your local station announce "the new Green Day single" than clicking on a Youtube link. It's nice to know the song will be getting exposure in your country too.

I want to listen to it on the radio premier because then I know that I'm hearing it on the first listen, along with thousands of other people - a collective, yet still personal, listening experience.  I don't want to go onto YouTube and see that I'm the 5,764th person to listen to the song.  It's just not the same.

Radio 104.1 in Connecticut are playing it at 10AM as well.

What is that out of Glastonbury??  I'm too far to hear that on the radio but I can stream it.  I emailed WPLR but they never responded to me

I think it's good that we contact radio stations. Many of them (the smaller ones) probably don't know there's a single coming and don't play it = their listeners won't hear it.

When Kerrang made a German issue a few years ago, they said that if we can't find it in the stores we should tell the owner and let him order it, so that even people who don't know the magazine could see it and get interested.

I guess it's the same thing. Get the band more attention. I don't want the single to be only heard by me, but by everybody else too. :P

Yes it is! They always have billboards featuring Green Day so I figured they would play it. Really fast response, they seem excited about it.

I don't expect to hear it on the radio here in germany any time soon. My local radio station played "oh Love" weeks after its release and it was the only song they played from the triology.

(BUT they play Basket Case, When I come around and some American idiot Songs almost every day, so I'm not complaining) :)
