Exactly. I remember buying Rock am See tickets thinking it could be their only show. Then the two dates were announced and I went to Mönchengladbach as well. If the shows had been announced on the same day as Rock am See, I would've probably gone to the two headline dates and not the festival. :) We will see. I'm very curious to see what will happen tomorrow.

However, there are approx. 4 months between the headline tour and the festivals. In addition, Hurricane and Southside have already sold lots of tickets. They don't really depend on their line-up anymore.
Mumford & Sons played in Hamburg in May this year and headlined one month later at Hurricane which was kinda strange, but still... We'll see.

isn't green day a bit "soft" for download?

Considering All Time Low and You Me at Six (among others) have played in recent years, it wouldn't seem so unlikely now

Ah, I guess. I was really only basing that on last year's lineup, which was mostly metal apart from the Deftones.

Didn't the download tweet said announcement at 3 (uk time) ?

Download isn't an announcement? Just an after video.. I was wrong on that!

uk and euro arena tour I'd imagine.. With German festivals?..

They normally have a few less heavy bands there.

I'm hoping for Reading rather than Download :)

They've played Reading a lot already.  It's great that they seem to have a relationship with the festival, but I'd rather see them play elsewhere.  That's probably a disgustingly unpopular opinion though.

It's definitely become more diverse! The last time I went we got to see Bowling for Soup and Zebrahead :)

Isn't Italy known for being a bit overexcited with Green Day information?

Maybe this is where the hype and full-on promotion for revrad really begins.  It's almost like they've put out a memo to festivals/venues suggesting they give unsubtle hints before a mass announcement tomorrow.  With each new article I'm getting more and more excited.

Also I don't mean to pick on anyone in particular, but it's useful if people can put short descriptions as well as just posting the links.  That way people know what they're clicking on plus it helps keep the thread more user friendly in general.

I'm one of the admins of Green Day Italian Rage and Love.

We spoke with a very reliable source and I can confirm that tomorrow they'll announce the dates. :)

i feel like in the past (since american idiot anyway) that i can remember they've always just put the dates up online and radio stations announced it after. i'm wondering if we'll get the dates posted on greenday.com sometime before all these stations say anything or if it really will be radio exclusives.

i can't take the waiting  no radio stations in st. louis, atlanta, indianapolis, louisville, or nashville have posted anything and i'm starting to get slightly worried...

I'd bet they put it up on the website around the same time the radio announcements will be made. No point in spilling the beans prematurely.

Does anyone have any links for a hint to a possible american tour?

It would be unlikely that US radio stations would be hyping a non-US tour.  That is, assuming all the announcements are indeed related.

There will 100% be an American tour.

Do they always announce the whole tour or they keep adding more dates?

I think they announced additional dates for Europe in 2010.

And for South America! Closing the 21st Century Breakdown tour.

How "big" do you guys think they are going with this tour? I feel I'm a little worried due to the length of the last tour, even though I know the reasons behind it. The guys seem very postive and ready to go which is great. But do you think they might come around twice, like with 21st century breakdown where they toured europe twice (Fall 2009/Summer 2010)?
