It seems a little bit strange that the article states that Green Day already announced the upcoming tour dates though. We are probably really close to an announcement, I bet we will get it today Every website claiming to be in the know about the concert had the same date, so it could definitely be legit. Beerjeezus
I'm feeling like a little kid on the Christmas Eve. Hopefully, they'll do solo open-air shows along with the festivals.

I seem to mess up all my earlier plans for this band. Didn't want to go to France and neither do any festivals and now here we are. Of course this is due to those rumors being true which is very likely if you ask me.

Billie Hoe
No lineup has yet been announced for Hurricane... Maybe Green Day will be announced tomorrow but sometimes bands, even headliners, are added later (e.g. Rammstein at Wacken Open Air a few years back). Gee I sure hope they will come here for non-festival concerts too... Don't wanna pay this much for other bands when all I really care about is Green Day... I hope a Hurricane / Southside announcement doesn't prevent them from also touring Germany in spring. I cannot afford a weekend festival pass at this point and they don't seem to sell day passes at all, do they? But generally speaking, it would seem very odd to me to announce Hurricane and Southside along other dates tomorrow. Wouldn't other german dates, even if much earlier than the festival, kind of diminish their ticket sales? It sounds like something a band wouldn't be "allowed" to do. Very much hoping I am wrong, though.

Very much hoping I am wrong, though. I hope it won't! If I remember correctly they only came to Germany in 2013 for Rock am Ring and Rock im Park, that's why I went to see them in London. Can't really afford a weekend ticket for a festival either. If there was a day pass, I would maybe get that one if I absolutely HAD to, but I reeeeeally don't care for festivals the slightest bit... Also Germany had a hard time with festivals this year because of thunderstorms and terrible weather. They either got cancelled or people got hurt. I don't see a problem with announcing tour dates for Hurricane and Southside along with other dates in the same country. Many people who visit those festivals don't do it because Green Day is playing but because of the whole atmosphere and all the other performers, I think. I don't know, never been to one. Tickets for the Emirates Stadium and Reading festival were up at pretty much at the same time, I think? I mean I went with a girl to the London show and she told me she would go to Reading later that summer as well, so IDK. Maybe it's just a dumbass thing Germany would do. I do enjoy going to festivals, also did it for Green Day a couple of times. Not very fitting for me next year, though, especially without day passes. Yeah, absolutely. I also went to see Green Day shows and then saw them again at a festival a few days later. The thing is that Hurricane and Southside of course want to sell tickets by announcing a headliner. And they for sure will. People who are in for the festival and the other bands wouldn't care about other Green Day dates too much. But quite a lot of Green Day fans who want to see them would prefer a usual show over a festival. Announcing the festival show on its own and more dates later would definitely result in more ticket sales for the festival itself. Don't know how much restrictions there actually are, though.
