The tour has to appeal to the masses

A tour is meant to promote the new album by featuring new tracks prominently, along with classics and favorites like AI, Holiday, BOBD, 21 Guns, WMUWSE, KYE, Good Riddance, Dookie songs. These are augmented by some older and less-played songs like Walking Contradiction, Armatage Shanks and others. I'm personally hoping for No One Knows, Who Wrote Holden Caulfield, Panic Song and Worry Rock. They can never play enough Nimrod songs.

So the tour is a good time to throw in at least a couple of oldies to entertain the long-time fans.

But if they played some old songs which we don't get to hear often, if ever, that would be great. I would maybe even be willing to sacrifice King for a Day if we'd get to hear some rarer stuff. That's some serious blasphemy there. We all know how much Billie loves that song

Still, you could then say you'd be to the first ever performance of it, even though it was back in a time when nobody took cameras to concerts and YouTube wasn't going to be though of for another 11 years. Still, it would be cool just to hear it played and it end up on a possible live album.

I love the enthusiasm, but I've been reading a shitload of Hawking, etc. for a long time and am absolutely convinced backward time travel will never be feasible for a myriad of reasons (forward time travel is a long, long way off but I have hopes it will happen). Plus, wouldn't we see those time travelers at the VMAs? Or maybe we did?!? Sorry to jump in here, but theoretical physics, the cosmos, etc. is one of my favorites and I love contemplating time travel. Too bad the god damn laws of physics and our universal limitations (that pesky speed of light limiter thing) will never allow it. I can't wait for the new stuff and tour- it's going to be incredible. And since I know I won't be able to travel back to ever see it again I'm going to appreciate every second!!!

jordanlolss
(from RS article about Revolution Radio) Are you looking forward to playing these songs live? Yeah. We're probably going to be announcing dates pretty soon. We've been in the garage hammering them out, and it sounds great. Jason White, Jason Freese and Jeff Matika are back with us, and we've got the gang back together.
AlissaGoesRAWR
Since they first started dropping new album hints, I've been more anxious about tour dates than anything else. Too much uncertainty! I feel like Ohio could be an easily skipped spot, since we got the Hall of Fame induction last year, and before that they hadn't been here since the American Idiot era... Beathe.
I cannot wait for them to announce tour dates. I want to plan everything down to the last detail. Renewed my Idiot Nation membership yesterday to be able to get presale tickets. Since they released Bang Bang I have listened to setlists from previous shows none stop, I am so ready for this. Red
With the epicness that is Bang Bang, I have pretty much committed into doing the whole "follow the band around to all the shows" in Australia. I always wanted to do it at least once in my lifetime and now I'll have the budget and the album is shaping up to be great so it seems like the perfect opportunity. Anyone else thinking of doing this?
Clockwise
Yeah, I'm going to try to go to as many shows as humanly possible. Because I don't know the next time I'll get a chance to do that.

So what are the odds of them coming to Huntington Center (for you) or Natiownide Arena (for me)? I think Huntington would be too small. But Columbus is bypassed by most artists who choose Cincinnati or Cleveland instead. Methinks a road trip is inevitable for us, probably out-of-state.
