Yeah I'd like to think the band had a rough idea of what the singles would be

If Green Day will be presenting their music ONLY to the radio staff members without any outside broadcast, how it is generating any hype and buzz? I understand that they can help them choosing the singles etc. and you also said "based on what their listeners are liking" but unless their music is being listened outside there can be no hype and feedback at all. (Just curious :))

DJs are heard by hundreds of thousands of people per day :) So, when they're on air, they can simply say something like "We got to hear new Green Day music recently and it's awesome! We have a new song from them coming ____."

WTF. That 'one week' guy has just posted nine minutes ago, yet when you hover over his username it says last visited Yesterday at 05:37AM?

I still find it hard to believe that a radio station worker would give away such information without the permission of the band or the label.

Then don't believe it and go on with your day.

Problem solved

So for the trilogy, did Green Day play Kill the DJ to some DJs?

I'm sure they did. But you do know that the song isn't actually about DJs right?

Could it be that they're playing the songs for the programming directors/DJs so the different radio companies can bid on who gets to premiere the track?  I don't know if it works like that though.

Well if all the artwork is done then it includes the artwork for the singes, right? So they have to be already chosen

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

Maybe they have artwork for album and some concepts for singles? They may also choose singles and want the radio guys to help them choose the first single. But I think that playing for radio guys is just part of promotion.

I think everything's picked out and ready to go: album, single, artwork,  photos, video, press release, maybe even TV shows booked and a Rolling Stone article.  There's probably a plan in place of when everything's getting rolled out. Now we just sit back and enjoy the excitement, and watch for Instagram posts from the band  :D

I know it's a small radio station but I can see them premiering new songs on Matika's morning show

Do you think they're planning to unleash pretty much everything at once?

No, I think it's coming in increments, it's just all in place, ready to go. Maybe the album name and a press release/photo next week? Or even the single? And maybe Green Day will perform at the VMA's and premiere the video for the single?

I'm guessing it'll be grouped into the following:
- Album and artwork announcement + lead single announcement (with premiere a week later).
- Single premiere on a radio station and/or Green Day YouTube (with lyric video).
- Music video for lead single released near album release date.
- Album releases.

Due to all of the news that is being pieced together, I would not completely write this off.
(Man, I hope they do something at that show. Will make my tentative tickets worthwhile)
