To me, it seems the song most likely to be successful as a single I still think oh love was a great lead single but I think stay the night would've been better. Perhaps Warner did the right thing in not putting them in the public eye too much after that, perhaps Green Day wouldn't be able to get through to the public audience which still had the iHeart Radio incident in recent memory. I doubt that...was someone truly outraged? I don't think so. More people would have been interested if the airplay continued. Bad reputation? That video went viral, it got them into public eye more than anything else in years. Bad promo > no promo
WalkingContradictionPL
I love Trilogy, especially Tre! When I put the CD in my CD player for the first time, I sat on the floor because I was so impressed with Brutal Love. It was a bit magical. I don't know why but this record was and still is perfect for me. I love DRB, Missing You, X-Kids and Walk Away. I also like Uno! and Dos!, espeically Carpe Diem, Stray Heart, Nuclear Family and Lazy Bones but they're not my favourite albums.

I personally think that if they had taken the best from Uno and Dos (Stray Heart, Stay the Night and Lazy Bones) and combined it with Brutal Love, X-Kid, Walk Away, DRB, the Forgotten and a couple of others on one album with the more raw sound of Demolicious, it would have gotten better critical reviews. Tre! came closest to the intended sound they had for the album, but due to various factors it has basically become a Warning 2.0, beloved by some yet forgotten by most.

Yes, it's like Warning 2.0 what's funny because Warning was my favorite album till December 2012.

jordanlolss
Personally, I don't think Oh Love is a bad song at all.. But as a LEAD single? Definitely a poor choice. They should've gone with something really upbeat and rocking, imo. I remember listening to Oh Love for the first time, being super excited for new music and just being like ...that was it? Chin for a Day
I've posted the numbers before, but Oh Love was doing, really, really well. I heard it on the radio constantly. It debuted at #1 on the US Rock singles charts and stayed there for about 3 weeks. It dipped to #2 the day after iHeart and was totally off the charts a week later. As much as I feel that Stay the Night would have made a fine single, I don't really buy the argument that they needed something upbeat to bring people around. Oh Love was doing, very, very well until after iHeart. That put a bad taste in alot of peoples minds and all promotion stopped.
GenXIdiot
I loved hearing Oh Love on the radio when it came out! It got me into Green Day again and I bought Uno! I wasn't really following them that closely, but Oh Love was really catchy and different and caught my ear. It's fun to sing along with.
PursuitOfEpicness
My local radio actually started playing Let Yourself Go and people really liked that one. That would have been a good lead single. In my opinion Oh Love is very laid back and i love it as a closer for the album but not much for the single. But just my opinion. Oh and don't get me started on that video. Absolute hatred for it haha.

Beerjeezus
Let Yourself Go might have been a good single, though. My local station played it too and it always caught everyone's attention. I guess it's a kind of song that gets overplayed but it has actually grown on me when I heard it on the radio from time to time. It's fun, catchy and punky. The simplistic production didn't bother me either. It stood out among other rock songs they played.
Siddharth_471
Oh Love is actually a good song and is a representative of the Trilogy (at least of Uno!) so I see nothing unlikely in releasing it as a lead single, though other than that Carpe Diem as a single would have been a great choice. I agree. I remember how I felt when I seen Know Your Enemy video for the first time (that is how I started listening to Green Day) and Oh Love video was completelly different. I hate such vid as a fan and if didn't listen to Green Day I wouldn't take about band which is hanging out with almost naked girls in a vid. When it goes to music I think that Stay the Night would be better. I also don't know why Kill the DJ was a single. This song is different from the whole album. It's like Nightlife would be single from Dos!.
