It was created so there would be no trilogy talk in the Green Day in the studio 2016 thread, which was closed like 3-4 months ago. Now the new album is out, no one cares about the trilogy no more. It was released 4 years ago for goodness sake. Now it's pretty much used for Steven Seagull to say stupid shit. Let the trilogy die. It's open because threads for talking about all Green Day's albums are allowed on GDC not just the new one. If you don't like it don't post in it. Some of Seagull's posts might be stupid shit but so is making fun of someone for liking a Green Day album and trying to prevent them from talking about it while on a Green Day forum. 15 hours ago, MysticManiac said: Yeah I see what you did there. You made a reference to the song Troublemaker, a song which contains the worst lyrics Billie Joe has ever written, which is found on UNO, which apparently is "by far the best thing they released since 2000" and has "so many great songs." "I wouldn't say I'm straight 'cause I'm bent out of shape" is the most badass line of the trilogy and one of my favourite GD lyrics, that whole part of the song including the solo before it is so cool! I know people like to dwell on one deliberately silly joke line but that's not all there is to the song . I love Troublemaker and Uno! 15 hours ago, Steven Seagull said: I'm in my trilogy zone. I have Drama Queen playing right now. This was the first Tre song I learned how to play. It was on repeat whole days. Such a great melody and lovely lyrics. One of Billie's best vocal performances ever. Did u know Drama Queen was originally on 21st CB? It was on early tracklistings and versions of the album played for journalists and they had to change it right at the last minute when they decided to replace it with Murder City. Could it be you like a 21st CB song?

Could it be you like a 21st CB song? Yeah that whole verse in Troublemaker is pretty cool but other than that it is lyrically awful, and I don't just mean that 1 line. The chorus is just BJ repeating "Wanna be a troublemaker" which isn't catchy or memorable. I don't mind a chorus being repetitive as long as there's something else that's interesting going on like cool backing vocals or instruments doing something interesting etc. but there's nothing going on during the chorus. The whole of the 2nd verse is just bad "I like your BM-excellent tits with a tattoo of a pig sniffin' glue" is obviously the worst, but the whole verse makes no sense "I like your BMW", "You're living at the W". There's plenty of GD lyrics that I don't know what they mean and idk if I just don't understand them or if they're just meaningless. But with these lyrics it's clear that they just mean nothing I think 21CB would be worse with Drama Queen. All of the songs on 21CB are miles better than Drama Queen (Yes, Seagull, they are better). It definitely fits Tré better, although I'd probably prefer it to not be on any album, it'd be ok if it was a B-side
solongfromthestars
I will agree that Troublemaker has some of Billie's worst lyrics but the song itself is super catchy. I don't find myself totally distracted by the lyrics when I listen to it and not all of them are bad, so I don't mind it. These are the lyrics that make me say that: I like your BMW / I like your BM-excellent tits / With a tattoo of a pig sniffing glue / You're living at the W But I assume he's using things that are stereotypically desirable to men as metaphors for the girl being desirable. The W fits in with the New York theme going on. I'm not denying they're cringeworthy and OK, I don't get the pig sniffing glue But I sort of get what he was trying to say in general and the BM-excellent tits have given me a laugh.
MikeDirntConfused
I thought Uno was a pretty solid album with the exception of Trouble Maker and Loss of Control. The album had a mission to make simple, catchy songs and that's exactly what it accomplished. I also felt the quality of the record was consistent throughout. I didn't like Dos or Tre, though they had a couple of good songs in each.

Not exactly meaningful, but it isn't trying to be, it's meant to be silly and is silly so I don't really know why everyone takes such issue with it. Overall I think it's a fun and catchy song and sounds cool musically.

What I have a problem with is Steven Seagull saying that Uno is the best thing they've done since Warning and I was just using this song as an example of why it's not

If anybody even mentions American Idiot, 21CB or RevRad, you have to make your comment about how shit they are when A) Everyone already knows your opinion and B) Nobody gives a fuck about it

That time when everyone on GDC kept posting When someone was bitching

But there's nothing wrong with thinking it is the best either. You can both talk about why you have that opinion but neither one is wrong or right, it's a matter of personal taste. Of course the same applies with Rev Rad, no one needs to keep trying to convince other people not to like that either . @Steven Seagull you don't need to start trying to wind people up just because they disagree with you about liking one album or disliking another, just everyone be civil to each other and don't make a discussion about Green Day albums personal please.
