That Dude
Maybe one day they'll do another trilogy! RevRad's kind of like the new American Idiot so maybe they're doing the same cycle all over again! That means next we'll get some non-album singles (covers), then a new foxboro hot tubs record in 2020. Then a modern day 21st Century Breakdown, and finally around 2024 we get Eins! Zwei! Drei! A triple concept album about Billie Joe's life! Then, another album similar to American Idiot 2028. Oh man, time flies. Think about it. Green Day's next album will probably be released in the 20's! So weird to think about! The Trilogy was awesome. Green Day has managed to keep a familiar sound while doing something completely different with each and every release. Sad to hear that the band thinks these album weren't great, but maybe they could have been better. I love the trilogy, but looking at them now....maybe they could have done one album or two albums. Trash "Carpe Diem", "Angel Blue" and "Troublemaker" from Uno. Trash most of Dos but keep "F(woo) Time", "Lazy Bones" and "Amy". Tre, keep "X-Kid" "Sexs Drugs Violence"..... aaah, I don't care.

I was just trying to stream line all three into one or two albums and I realized that's really difficult. With Green Day even their throw-away tracks and filler are dang good. I wonder if we'll ever get another instrumental from Green Day. Last Ride In and Espionage are classics, we could go for another, shall we say a TRILOGY of instrumentals. They rode in, committed espionage and then...................................... What are some things Green Day have done in the past that they haven't done in a while? A style or sound, a guest, type of lyric, etc. ??

Dunno if this is their own wishes or just something else. American Eulogy and Homecoming.... A+

1039Revolutions
IMO they could have done without loss of control, angel blue, see you tonight, Ashley, nightlife, Amy, and walk away.. 30/37 ain't bad. Maybe a double album or a foxboro and Green day around the same time.

When it comes down to if they could of just made 1 or 2 albums thing you can always make a playlist of the ones you like. I love Nightlife and Lost of Control so we differ there. If you mean they could of done a lot better commercially with 2 disc or less than I can't argue that. Good to know you like a good portion of the 3 tho

DeJennsitized
I love Angel Blue. Reminds me of my favourite TV show (and my favourite character from that TV show) The version on Demolicious is better though.
Hermione
Angel Blue is my least favourite song on Uno. It's good enough but I find it the least interesting.

I would(for a 12 song album) go.. 1. Lazy Bones 2.Sex,drugs, and violence 3.99 revolutions 4. Stray Heart 5. Missing You 6. Amy 7. X-kid 8. Dirty rotten bastards 9. Let yourself go 10. Kill the DJ 11. Sweet 16 12. Carpe Diem So, if one album was done, those would be my picks.
DanPak
I think the trilogy will always have a special place to be honest. To me it doesn't stand up to most of the rest of their work, but it was such a brilliant time to be a fan. They gave us a treat right up until Iheart. And there is definitely a solid album buried in their. Maybe two. The guitar tone killed it for me, it only suited a handful of the songs.

Demolicious has quite a few of my least favourite Uno Dos Tre songs on it but it's cool because those also seem to be the ones that are markedly better on it, gave me new appreciation for several of them. I prefer the originals of most of them though.
Steven Seagull
I think Demolicious sounded awful. I like the polished guitar sound of the actual albums much more. It's so different from everything else they've done.
Popular Post AlissaGoesRAWR
Sometimes I get really sad when I think of how much the trilogy's sparse good songs got fucked by their weird production. Like, I would love to hear songs like Stay the Night and Rusty James recorded like Revolution Radio. They're really not bad lyrics-wise, they just (in my opinion) don't sound good, or like songs I want to listen to on repeat. There's potential in a lot of songs that have good parts that will never be realized, because they were released sounding almost rushed and unfinished. Not trying to upset the trilogy fanboys and fangirls, it's just something I've been thinking about since the new album leaked. Some of its songs are very fun-sounding and it's rather diverse and experimental at times. Much of it seems to achieve what the trilogy wanted, but in a tighter package with less fanfare about its "spontaneity" ahead of time. Kind of ironic.

It's bizarre that RevRad sounds more experimental than the Trilogy. There were some songs on the Trilogy that were definitely different but the Trilogy still all kinda blends into one when I think back on it. Steven Seagull
Well RevRad sounds like shit because of the shitty mastering. You can't even hear the bass on those songs. Trilogy is perfect as it is Probably their best mixed album.
greenalert997x
I love the mastering a hundred times better than trilogy and the effect is great they self-produced revrad. That's my opinion

Not sure I completely agree with that - I remember the first time I saw that soundcheck video of Stay the Night from the 21CB tour and all I could think was 'it's a good melody, but is that it?'. Lyrics and music seemed massively basic and uninteresting compared to what we'd become used to from the last few albums. Then it turned out that it was one of the best trilogy songs...
