I like trilogy vocals for their clearness and Insomniac vocals for their moody punkiness, I think both worked for their respective albums. My least favourite vocals are on Warning, they're decent enough overall but it sounds like he has some kind of mild speech impediment. I don't know if it was because he had a chipped tooth at the time or just the way he chose to sing or what but at times it kind of sounds like he's slobbering or has a slight lisp.

I think you're right, but that actually makes me like his Warning vocals even more. The difference between that and the vocals on AI is pretty remarkable though.

i love the trilogy vocals, probably one of my favorite vocal performances he's done as well. I like how you can pretty much hear every breath he takes

What the hell is going on? I thought everyone hated the trilogy vocals. (Except Seagull of course)

Yes that's one of the highlights of it for me! I do understand when people say they would've liked the production to be harder/rawer but being able to hear every nuance of the singing and music is really cool.

There's a small elite group of us who like them

Seagull isn't the only one who likes the trilogy.

Nothing is worse than the Insomniac vocals.  HE sounds like he had marbles in his mouth the whole time.  At least he enunciates on the trilogy

I fucking adore Insomniac!

The trilogy holds a special place in my heart, it being the first album cycle I was actually apart of. I listened to the albums on repeat when they first came out, and really enjoyed the more simple/stripped back sound compared to 21cb (not to say I don't enjoy that sound, it was just a nice change of pace). That being said, it's been awhile since I actually listened all the way through the trilogy. I've got a solid (large) hand full of songs that I love, and I listen to them when they come up in my GD playlist. While I don't think the trilogy was GD's best work, there are many good songs that came out of it that seem to get overlooked due to the bad rep the 3 albums get as a whole.

With the impending release of RevRad, I've dedicated a good few hours to listening to the trilogy over the past week or so. At the time the 3 albums were released, I was fanboying hard on Insomniac. I also went through a stage of watching the Longview & Welcome to Paradise videos on a loop before I went to bed each night. So I thought that my strong dislike for much of the trilogy back in 2012 may have been down to that; my love of old punk Green Day.

So yeah, I've given the trilogy a chance for the first time in years. It's slightly better than I remember it being, but still, I'd say that for sure the worst songs Green Day have ever made on are these 3 albums. There were 4 songs I liked enough to put on my Green Day playlist, which is a poor hit rate considering the total number of tracks! My favourite is probably X-Kid, but even that I'd rate probably a 6/10. Some of them I actually find painful to listen to. Kill the DJ.. Nightlife is the obvious one! I feel embarrassed/cringey listening to it! I'd much rather listen to Shenanigans, which isn't even a proper album, than Uno, Dos or Tres.

Bang Bang is imo better than anything on the trilogy. With the pretty good Still Alive and Revolution Radio added to that, I'm already sure RevRad will be better than the Trilogy.

Of course I'm glad that many people like the trilogy (it says a lot about the diversity of GD's fans), but for me I'm just going to pretend it doesn't exist. Bury my head in the sand. And I hope that when I finally get to see them live this coming February, they play minimal material from the trilogy!

"We all die in three's" is for you Trilogy.

I'm seriously wondering if that's what he meant now. If so, that line is awesome.

I still fucking love the trilogy to be quite honest.

Uno - The best one. Loss Of Control, Fell For You and Angel Blue are the reasons I love this album. No word of a lie I jammed this whole album front to back on my guitar for months on end, still go back to it now.

Dos - Makeout Party and Lady Cobra (song) are the real highlights for me, two absolute balls to the wall in your face rock n roll songs with some awesome riffing chucked in there, Billie sounds angry on this one, love it when he snarls in a song. Special mention to Lazy Bones too, it was obviously tough for Billie to write that song.

Tre - My least favourite out of the three. Ironically it gave me my favourite song out of the entire trilogy in Missing You, I never play this front to back though, with the exception of Missing You, X-Kid, Sex, Drugs and Violence and LBNT it really doesn't do much for me. Never play this front to back anymore. Those four songs are fun as fuck to jam on guitar though.

It's been a good ride trilogy, but now it's time for RevRad.

Time for this thread to die.   I was always a fan of Trilogy but I just finished my first listen of RevRad and now I can say screw that mess.   "We all die in three's" is for you Trilogy.

How about you listen to that trash and leave the Trilogy alone? :)

Because this thread will only be used by Seagull for him to express how much he loves the trilogy more than Revolution Radio. It's already super annoying and he's already said multiple times it on this one has page.

When you come back to Trilogy after you just listened RevRad and get that relaxed feeling again.
