I prefered when he had an affair with Norah Jones, though. What about his turbulent on again off again romance with Paul Westerberg? That had us all hoping he wouldn't end up with hurt feelings.

I wouldn't mind if they got back together and went on a honeymoon somewhere near me.

Stefano Bras
Actually, maybe sharing this might be very random but actually I "made" a story (American Idiot-esque) with the trilogy surrounding the theme of midlife crisis and starring the main character James Lunn (Rusty James) and many other characters, and I've been writing a book about the story for a year now haha, it's called "Drunks, Chumps & Sugar Lumps" and every song off the trilogy is chapter on the book. It would be cool to share it some day.

punkangel
Guys, do you think they will perform trilogy songs in the upcoming tour? My guess is that they will, but maybe only songs from ¡Uno! since it was the only one that get more sales and everything.

Stay the Night and Brutal Love will stay, 99 Rev is possible. For the rest I'd like them to play Walk Away, X-Kid and DRB, but the main focus will be RevRad and Insomniac (Walking Contradiction, Armatage Shanks, Brain Stew etc) will be more featured.
PurpleIron1039
The only song that I truly disliked from the Trilogy was "Nightlife". There were some tracks that I felt "meh" about but didn't outright hate. However, it seems like everyone hates "Kill the DJ", which is such a mystery to me. That was the song (along with "Nuclear Family") that made me want to purchase Uno. Green Day accomplished a pretty amazing feat with that song IMO--they got me to become addicted to something that falls under the category of dance music.
Popular Post DookieLukie
Kill the DJ is amazing. My one complaint is that the "someone kill the dj" line is repeated way too much at the tail end of the song, but overall that song has such a cool feel to it and is definitely experimental for Green Day.

Those three are as good as any songs they have ever done.

solongfromthestars
I think other than the "big" trilogy songs they'll play the rest like they do with less played songs from previous albums. I hope so anyway, so many I'd love to see. If I had to pick a few it'd probably be 8th Avenue Serenade, Fell for You and Wow! That's Loud. Kill the DJ and Angel Blue though...

And some of Billie's absolute best writing. That song evokes such interesting, strong emotions. It has a sense of struggle and longing that isn't typically captured in a song. It describes exactly what it says it does, brutal love.

I don't think he was exactly saying that the Trilogy was "crap", though.
