I remember when I first heard Wild One I wasn't paying attention to the tracks continuing and ending and I thought they were the same song. Happy they're not, I like Lazy Bones way more.

For a while it would confuse me because how Lazy Bones ended. Messed with my head making me ask myself "How long have I been listening to Wild One?" even though it just started.

Although I do like Wild One

The Trilogy represents a bad time for Green Day.   But I was thinking a lot of Green Day's albums have some sort of negativity associated with them.   I love all of their work, but here's sort of a run down of the bad things associated with their albums:

Dookie - Green Day sells out

Insomniac - Did not sell as well as Dookie

Nimrod - The beginning of their 'mid-years decline', and was a struggle to write it as they had no songs ready when they entered the studio

Warning -   Some considered this album to be dull and the end of Green Day's popularity

American Idiot - While massively popular, the album pulled Billie Joe into a downward spiral due to the insanity of non stop touring and the pressure of knowing that they probably would never be able to do something like this again.

21st Century Breakdown  - This album was an attempt to go bigger and better than Idiot.  The band was under a terrible amount of pressure and their personal problems were mounting.

Uno, Dos and Tre!  - Billie Joe's personal problems not only sidelined the promotion for these albums but the writing and recording as well.      Poorest selling albums of their careers.

I couldn't think of any negativity surrounding 1039 or Kerplunk.

I've been listening to the Trilogy while driving lately and just like all the other Green Day albums, they are freaking awesome!   Uno is a solid album with only some minor weak points.  Dos and Tre have a few more weak points but even those I enjoy listening to at times.    Even at their lowest point our favorite point can still make some killer tracks!

Still, I never heard from anyone on here who preferred the Trilogy to all others.    Is there anyone?

I honestly do think the trilogy is one of my favorite GD releases. It might be up there with AI for me, really. I still listen to it all the time and think it is criminally underrated.

I rotate my favorites- Kerplunk may be my top album for a while, then I'll get into a groove with 21CB for a couple months, for example. I've gone through some phases over the last 3 years where the Trilogy was my top choice. No album is ever my permanent favorite, because at different times I tend to listen more heavily to one over the other. The Trilogy has been my favorite a few different times since its release, so I guess you could count me as someone who prefers it from time to time. Not now though, I've been really into Nimrod again for the last few months...and the last couple weeks I've been kind of transitioning back into Insomniac. How's that for a totally hedged answer?

My whole theory about the trilogy is that it was just 'too much to take in' for the average listener, and considering the drama surrounding Billie's rehab, the quality of the music itself was just overlooked.

I think this tour will either make or break how we view the trilogy, and how people react to songs like 'Oh Love', and how many they add to the setlist will be the deciding factors of how the trilogy goes down in their career.

If they play Oh Love and everyone sings a long and goes crazy, which I think they will, we can probably assume the lack of critical and commercial success was due to the drama, and not because of the music, or idea. If they play trilogy songs and the crowd dies, I think we can assume the high praise is just the hard core fans focussing on the positives of the trilogy lol.

I doubt the tour determines how we view the trilogy! Haters hate and others I am sure appreciate it enough, but also realize they have done better.

When people try to debate about this and either extremely rude or can't make valid points in the wrong threads

Thinking the trilogy has flaws doesn't equal being rude.

Assuming I said that

On a more positive side of things, I heard Oh Love on the radio the other day and it felt so cool to hear it somewhere I had no control of what was being played and it sounded so great. I am glad to be a UNODOETRE supporter

That's great. I didn't think we'd hear any more of the trilogy on the radio. Maybe RR will get some people buying the trilogy albums

So I couldn't find Kerplunk as a topic so....the Trilogy is way more enjoyable than Kerplunk.    It was without a doubt my least favorite Green Day album.   It does have a handful of great tunes on it, but there's a lot on it I could live without.    So that's Trilogy related.    They are not the worst part of Green Day's career, Kerpunk is!

I find them more enjoyable at times then their old albums. Nothing wrong with that!

I also rotate through my favorites, depending on what vibes I'm going through. Recently I've been appreciating the trilogy more than I had whe nit first came out. I think there are some really weak songs, musically and especially lyrically, but there are some that I just love too. Kill the DJ is (uh) killer, X-Kid, Nuclear Family, Stray Heart. I'm really thankful they gave us this much material, even if it came with tons of filler too

The three albums are just full of catchy songs that you remember really fast. And Uno is just perfection. I really don't like this Bang Bang style where they just scream some bullshit.

If you don't like the Trilogy you can leave the thread you know or respond with an actual argument.

I actually really like the trilogy. I find it irritating when people constantly complain about the trilogy. But you constantly complaining about AI, 21CB and Bang Bang is 10x more irritating. So I'll say again... Shut up

I compare the two. How is that irritating. I got that "Oh shit GD is back" feeling when they released Oh Love. I didn't get the same feeling with Bang Bang. So if you want me to shut up you make sure that the next single will be better.
