So?, I just said it sounded awesome.

My point is, it would have never happened anyway.

The guitars sound good, but the vocals are weird because of the changed pitch.

No one said that it would have happened. It just sounds pretty cool.

I don't understand what we're fighting about.

What makes you think we're fighting? Just having a discussion.

wut

I'd just like to point out that KFAD can be replaced by 4 Trilogy songs. I do hope they won't ditch Trilogy completely.

Have you guys listened to this? Sounds mental.

Go to setting in the video and play it at a slower speed.   Rusty James turns into a sludgy ballad of sorts!  (Oh Love also sounds cool all sludged out)

Do you think it would be too much too do Good Riddance AND Stay the Night?   Everybody starts to leave after Good Riddance and then.....ONE MORE ENCORE!   Or the other way so people will know when to leave?

People will know when to leave when the crew appears on the stage :P

I was a bit dissapointed that Brutal Love was the closer. I was unable to hear Good Riddance live

Brutal Love was an amazing closer.

I have to agree, although I'd still love to see Good Riddance as a closer one day.

It's always so strange to listen to Tre! because I always think of the song as a closer rather than an opener.

Why are you posting a video that's posted literally 3 posts above you?

I've been listening to the trilogy again because of the soon-to-be new album cycle, and I gotta say, it's really good still in a lot of ways. The lyrics are pretty uninspired at points and some songs sound like rip offs of other ones, but Tre is actually a good album front to back. Uno has a lot to praise, and Dos is kind of hit or miss but has some of the best songs of the trilogy on it. Demolicious is a pretty great record,  and I think I might do a little playlist editing to create a major playlist from these four releases to hype myself up for BANG BANG

We have Trilogy leakage over on the BANG BANG forum again.    Will the madness never end? 8 albums later will people still be hoping they don't "go back" to how they sounded on the trilogy?

You gotta expect that for this album as it's the first album since the trilogy came out so naturally people are going to compare it to the last album

I'm not totally in on the discussion and haven't be very aware of fan opinions since before the Trilogy came out, last time I was really in the Green Day loop was the 21stCB era. That said, I enjoyed the trilogy a lot, I think it had a lot of great song that would have made a stellar one album. I liked the Foxboro Hottubs vibe songs but I didn't like that they kept the Foxboro Hottubs sonics for these songs.

I revisit the Trilogy regularly, at least 8 songs from it are on my Go-to-Green Day playlist and for what it's worth I've been a fan since 1998 and since I became a fan there has never been an album that came out that disappointed me.

I would say one thing I found they super fucked up with the Trilogy though, the freakin singles, Oh Love and the fuckin Twilight song are just awfully cheesy. Kill The DJ was too repetitive and flat for a single and Let Yourself Go is just dumb, I'm all for dumb fun but Let Yourself Go was just too dumb to be fun. Stray Heart was a decent single but it kinda got lost in the hay of shit singles, just like the amazing X-Kid. I think the singles were horrible representation for the albums.

Ahh. I've been away for a while, but it's good to see that everything is as it used to be.

Whenever there is nothing big to discuss, this forum falls back on it's favorite topic.
There is absolutely nothing more to be said about the new song until it's released, so why not spend the remaining 7 hours hating/defending the trilogy?

Billie on the trilogy (from new RS article about Revolution Radio):

There's so many great songs on those albums. I just think for some people it was too much to digest all at once.
You think?! [Big laugh] I think that there's some really good songs on there. If I was gonna do it over again I'd probably do it. ... The intention was to make it more raw and off the cuff and the opposite happened, but I do like the songs. I think it was a fun record to make.

Bang Bang is how ¡Dos! should have sounded.

No Dos sounds like it's suppose to sound. Revolution radio is a new record with it's own sound. I wouldn't change a thing on the Trilogy because it's perfect the way it is. Bang Bang however uses the style from the Trilogy but upgrades it with the rawness of Kerplunk and the Old school Green Day.

Don't get me wrong, I like the trilogy.  But I think it's far from perfect, at least to my tastes.  If ¡Dos! had gone more with the sound of Bang Bang I reckon that I, along with many others, would have liked it a lot more.  It would have taken some slightly different production and a bit of rewriting, but the core of the material was definitely there.
