Is someone able to get that last second or so on some sort of loop? I keep wanting to listen to it but I have to wait 15-30 seconds before I can do it

That's a great idea! I wish I knew how.

I've listened to billies video over and over again. Am I the only one that doesn't think it sounds, like a song?  To me it just sounds like tre pounding away

Maybe that 1.5 seconds is the lead single, and is just really damn short :P

I don't know, but  I think it's a song. There are  guitars ( 1 or 2)  and drums together, they are together on the 2 beats that we can hear,  and there is a chord or two.

Also, I heard the click track. So yeah, a song.

Really?  You can hear that in two seconds?  Sorry can't help think people are grasping

Listened again and yes, the guitar(s) are together with the drums, there is a definite groove going on there ( a kick-ass one I might add) and the metronome track is clicking. Younger son wandered in, who records and mixes music for fun,  and I made him listen to the loop and he said yes that's a song with guitars, drums and the click track is definitely there.  He doesn't give a crap about Green Day, so he has nothing to grasp for. :)

Maybe it is a,song but you cannot tell if it is kick ass in 1.5 sec

I think its a definite recording of a guitar riff with possible non-recorded drums in the background. Either way I think it sounds pretty damn good!

Edit: If those are recorded drums, even better! It has a very nice pop to it.

Yeah you're probably right about that, but here's hoping :)

What's a click track?

It's a steady beat track, like a metronome, that is used played through headphone monitors when musicians record so they are all playing to the same beats per minute.

The bass rig in that video is a little weird to me, I wonder why Mike isn't using the Fender Amps he helped design, and I didn't see his sig bass anywhere, or "the weapon"

also, no signs of Jason in the video

I'd argue those are all positive signs.

I wouldn't. I thought the bass tone was one of the only good parts of the trilogy haha

Fair enough. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I haven't really liked Mike's bass tone post-Warning.

edit: and I know he hasn't used the signature amps and basses exclusively on the last 5 records. Whatever equipment he was using in the studio from 1997-00 is the perfect tone, to me.

The "song" is not just of 1.5 seconds but actually it begins exactly the moment when Billie's Gibson Jr. is shown and I think when Tre is seen he is also playing that same part of music. It was good though. It can be anything but that part of music reminded me (especially the drums) of "Roots Bloody Roots" because it exactly sounds the same but I don't think GD is anyway influenced by them.

Well I always liked Mike's bass sound BUT: very few bass amps are better than ampegs. My boyfriend has the newer version of the one shown in the video and it is super awesome. Of course you can change the sound using pedals etc but an ampeg is a good base for a solid bass sound.
