Maybe this means a single will drop soon? I'm guessing late April or anytime in May..after Billie's Tribeca gig.

Hi everyone.

Has anyone actually listened to revolution radio lately? I have not, but just googled the word and was directed to a site with logo with hand holding a heartgranade. Is this the old pirate radio tease or something new? Or is it just using AI logo to confuse people ^^

If it's something old, then nevermind and carry on. ?

I don't think so. The only real station I found plays country.

This is just random, but I'd love for the next album to sound like the bonus track covers of 21CB.

Yes!!! I love the sound they got on those tracks! It's not overproduced (?) like the regular sound from 21CB and it's a lit bit more like AI's sound but still renewed with a bit of a raw vibe.

Not that I want them to repeat any sound, but that would be awesome. It's so powerful. I love the acoustic and the distortion at the same time. And Billie's vocals sound completely amazing.

American Idiot

Recorded: April 18th 2003 - March 26th 2004

Tour began: July 29th, 2004

AI Single: August 31, 2004

Album Release: September 21st, 2004

**United States Presidential Election: November 2nd 2004

**2016 Presidential Election: November 8th, 2016

(Just a fun fact, not that it will have an influence, but it could.)

+Interview: Billie mentioned they had 4-5 songs last May

+Posted studio pics in January

+Mike commented on someones Instagram in reference to a political album

+Rumors of "huge" September tour

- Billie wants to take time on album

- Turned down that one Canadian festival in august due to wife health concerns

I thought it was interesting how American Idiot had finished recording 6 months before they released it. Does anyone know why that might be? If it had anything to do with the election my guess is that we will see a similar timeline to American Idiot in terms of releases.

I didn't know that they finished recording AI in March, but what's the period of time they took for other albums from finishing it to releasing it?

Uno was finnished in June and released in September so 3 months.

21CB was finished in April and released in May so 1 month

I think part of it is trying to avoid a summer release. Im only really looking at those two because I don't think release dates of albums any earlier than that would really tell us much.

Holy shit, I had a dream that the new  album was coming out on Sept. 21!  I'm guessing the album comes out before end of September to be out in time for the election.  And I'm guessing we get a single AFTER Billie Joe's Geezer/Tribeca gig.

That tambourine definitely suits you, Mike. I'd say: leave it there, it doesn't need to be played. :shy:

On a more serious note, how many songs do they have that use tambourines???

They don't really tambourine now, but up to Insomniac era it was ever-present live. At some point in 1989 Green Day even had a tambourine player - I think her name (or surname?) was Mitchell - who was eventually made obsolete when John has attached a tambourine to his hi-hat and so did Tre.

You'd be surprised. :) Listen to Fuck Time, Stray Heart, for example. It's usually in the back and not directly noticeable unless you pay attention, but it's there in a lot of songs. There's even a scene about it in Cuatro.

You're right. If you listen to the isolated tracks from Rock Band you'll discover they use it in many songs.

It's not something you notice at first listen, but there is some in almost every Trilogy song. I think they used it a lot in the past as well, but I guess it is even less noticeable. I love the Trilogy, but tambourines definitely aren't the best part about it. Please someone correct me if I'm mistaken.

Thanks everyone.  I never really noticed the tambourines before, I will have to listen more closely.  I was just wondering if MIkes instagram meant they were doing something new or if Mike just has strange taste in headgear.

I was gonna say they showed Tre playing around with tambourines on Cuatro so it must be on at least one song.

man, i wish he'd use Blue again on a recording. at least he's using humbuckers though, so i'm betting it'll be a heavier sound on some parts
