I've said it multiple times but Jeff likely knows next to nothing and likes to seek attention

I think he probably does, they're pretty tight as a little Green Day gang and as a touring member he'd become involved in learning the songs etc quite early on. The lot of them are sneaky teases who like to give hints out, I think it's a case of having fun with fans rather than seeking attention.

Think about it if you were one of the touring members and you knew what was going on, would you tell people you knew and face the millions of questions you know you cannot answer. It would be much easier to just say you know nothing.

I think the past shows it amuses them to tease us with stuff like this without actually giving anything away, whether they know something or not. They can easily ignore questions on twitter if they choose and just sit back and smile at them instead.

Honestly, if I were a member of the band, I would have a great time teasing the fans.  So, yeah, I'm sure they are teasing us alot.

I think you're overestimating the role we play in their lives.

They've deliberately teased fans on numerous occasions over the years with tweets/instagram posts/hints/codes/cryptic messages/secret side projects/secret pirate radio stations/mysterious videos and websites/stories of stolen albums etc etc so not really.

I like that Jeff posts stuff and I like that it pisses people off. I would absolutely do the same thing. Fans can be annoying. It's an easy way to have some fun with it.

No baiting on GDC or you'll get banned Andres!

Trolling Green Day fans is fun, I can't be angry about anyone who does that. I just can be jealous he's got a bigger audience :whistle

Orrrr we're reading into it.

Not saying we couldn't be reading too much into some things at the moment, just saying they have a history of giving hints and teasing us so it's not far fetched to think they would.

Not sure if it was taken on Otis or if it refers to Tre recording, but... may be something :P

Can't it just be a rehearsal room?

It can be anything at this moment.

I agree, there is no way to tell at what stage of making an album they are.

Well that's some good news.
Personally i also think they have some tracks almost finished, not sure about the album, but i do think this year we'll have new GD material.

just a few songs? that bums me out, i was hoping they would be closer to being finished. and recording a few songs at a time is a weird way to do things. i'm not saying it hasn't been done, but it's weird. also, if they had a full album's worth of material it seems like they would be closer to being finished, i've heard they work fast in the studio. it would really bum me out of they were still in the writing process

the longer they take the better hopefully that would mean quality material

They recorded the trilogy in 2-3 months. That was 40ish songs. I'm sure if they really set aside some time they could have the rest of their songs recorded pretty quickly. Instead they seem to be just letting happen naturally. I'm happy for them to do that if it means the quality of the songs benefit from that process.

But it took 7 months to record AI.  So, based on previous experience, the more time the better.

Exactly. They are letting it happen naturally instead of locking themselves in the studio and forcing it. I'm happy for them to this. After all 7 months isn't even that long a time to wait.

(Actually not a piece of shit, just currently looks like one)

My interpretation is that is means a few songs completely mixed and ready to go.

oh, that's different then... so you meant "they" as in the engineers at jingletown and not "they" as in green day... again, that's kinda weird because Chris Lord Alge usually mixes the albums at different studios, unless they're changing it up this time. maybe they wanted someone else to mix because of the bad feedback about the trilogy sound haha
