* High pass

No, High Pass makes you sound more of like grab your nuts hard. Low Pass,  Brighten up the lower Frequencies and make vocals more awesome. That's what i've learnt after recording songs and guitars.

What if nothing is happening? It's all our collected connections and speculation and GD management emailed Andres to tell us to stop spreading rumors.

Or they're planning it but then making the album takes longer than expected (a la 21st CB, they first went into the studio in early 2006 to start work on the follow up to AI, or Cigarettes and Valentines/AI where they decided to start again). I don't think they'd bother with the revrad hints etc if they weren't at least planning something reasonably soon though, they are actively trying to indicate something going on.

I like the approach of waiting a few months after the release to go on tour.  A lot of bands these days are completing US mini-tours before an album is even out.

In the minds of people who don't pay close attention to an artist's new music, they will see new music is out, listen to it for a bit and if they like it, they'll look up tour dates. How much of a slap in the face is it to look up dates and they already played in your area three months ago before the album was even out? Doesn't create a "I want to see you and listen to your music" kind of vibe if you ask me.

I'm good with release on X date, start big tour 2 months later, and rehearse/play small shows and interviews/TV appearances in between to further build hype and awareness. I think that will create a healthy "I want to see Green Day" attitude.

Do you think a summer release is possible? Or well, likely? Because some people mentioned that they think a summer release is unlikely and not the smartest thing to do. Here in Germany (well I think Europe in general) bands release their albums whenever they're ready. We don't have that "oh no, a summer release isn't good!!"

Well, if I were part of Green Day's management, I'd do it like this:

April: announce first single and first tour dates

April/May: release first single together with an announcement about the album's title and release date

June/July: release the album

July/August: rehearse and promote the album like crazy, do latenight shows, radio interviews, rolling stone interview and so on

September: start touring

This way the album gets a lot of attention before they start touring and the single is not released in summer which would bring a lot of attention before summer so this way the summer release of the album isn't a big problem for sales.

yea, It'll be Rad to announce something on April Fool's Day!

I couldn't handle all the speculation coming along with an announcement on that day whether it is true or not so I'd prefer another date.

What Harry Connick said about that kid on American Idol was not only a great compliment to him, but to Billie as well.  Being called sincere in your singing is quite a compliment.

Dude... I went to school for this stuff. "High pass" means you allow the "high" frequencies to pass through the filter and attenuate (lower) the low frequencies. Vice versa for low pass.

There is no "brightening" at all because you're not raising any particular frequency levels, you're simply lowering levels below (high pass) or above (low pass) a certain threshold.

High pass = low cut

Low pass = high cut

I agree, singing the notes is the easy part; the delivery and interpretation are the part that takes practice, experience, and talent.

And I had My Grad Exam like Day before yesterday, i know the difference. And by brightening up, i mean that, there's no need for that Amount of Treble, it makes him sound Weird and Damp. i just want him to attenuate those really high frequencies. But still, you're Senior, So you win this argument.  and i don't want to mess My Chemistry Exam, by recalling all that stuff again :)

I don't care when tours are announced in relation to the album, as long as I get tickets

Exactly. I don't want to get too hyped up about the tour just in case they won't come and i won't be able to travel.

Doesn't gd generally release something on rsd, a vinyl of some sort?  Maybe it is good sign that they are not because another release is coming soon.  Or maybe just wishful thinking

They did Demoliscious in 2013 (or was it 14?) and then a 7" in 2009(?) so they have took part of RSD in the past but they're not a every year like other artists do

Sorry if some of you were hoping to see something happen on RSD. But personally I'm glad they don't do anything on that day. I'd rather have them pick a day where nothing else is happening and all the attention is on them.

April 1 would suck as well in my opinion

Demo was 14 i believe. They did another one within the last few years but i can't remember which year, they put out that 7" with Husker Du where each side has "Don't Want To Know if You Are Lonely"

2015 (Black Friday): American Idiot
2015: Tune In Tokyo
2014: Demolicious
2011: Don't Wanna Know If You Are Lonely

And I think there was a Know Your Enemy EP in there somewhere as well.

Alright this is really farfetched and wishful thinking, but what if Billie Joe's "special performance" at the Tribeca Film festival includes a suprise appearance of Green Day and a brand new song???
