You do realise The Who are more likely to open for Green Day. The other way around would never happen.

You're joking right?

Next you'll say Rolling Stones will be opening for Blink 182...

Pretty sure Green Day would be honoured to open for The Who. No reason to believe they actually will :P, but I'm sure they'd like to if they got the chance.

Don't you guys think it's kinda weird how fast green day's management had the story about Jason freese taken down? Like how often are they checking GDA?

They probably traced down every shared link from that Soundcloud file, or something like that.

Okay, it's MARCH!!!!  We need more than what we are getting.  I'm not asking for much.  Just a leak of the full album by tomorrow and for Green Day to open for THE WHO in Kentucky on the 12th.   Oh and for bands like Green Day to break into the mainstream again.      That is all I demand.

Can we please make this happen?! They've never played in Kentucky. They were supposed to at NiFi fest last year but the festival had shitty advertising and had to cancel.

Not weird at all. They're watching us frequently. Anytime we get a take down request, it's usually pretty quick (within a two hours).

Why usually they ask you to take down something?

Usual case: if it's incorrect or if they don't want the info (which could be true) out there yet.

Yeah greenday.com gets its news from GDA so it's hardly surprising

Not to be picky but can we keep discussion of the Jason Freese tour comments to the thread for it please? Don't want this thread and that one to be the same

Tom DeLonge will open for himself, he thinks he's that awesome :P

In all seriousness i hope Blink will actually open for Green Day, that would be ace, Pop Disaster round 2. As an Alkaline Trio fan i think it would be great, Matt Skiba always delivers a solid performance

Well he is more awesome than current Blink 182

I'm not gonna demand for a separate thread for "Who's opening for Green Day or for Whom Green Day are opening?" :P

Anyway, it would be great if they opened for The Who and even opening for Black Sabbath on their farewell tour will be great too! Talking about who should open for Green Day, I think instead of Blink, any other younger and good band should open for them. Linkin Park, Slipknot or A7X will be good.

Well what I would like to happen is an April/May release  and a first single very soon and the album to be like a standard rock n roll album maybe a double album with  a live dvd of this concert where they played the whole Dookie album ?????

Avenged Sevenfold is a good fit for Green Day opener.  I actually like Slipknot and Linkin Park more but it doesn't really make sense for the average concert-goer.

i think blink is going to be a lot better without tom. While i don't have much of a desire to see blink live, i'm definitely looking forward to their next album

Whether or not you're taking a piss here – I have to disagree. I haven't been genuinely excited for a blink album in 15 years.

Green Day shouldn't open for anyone.  They have earned the right to be headliners.

But, I could understand The Who, the Who is rock elite and one of GD's influences.  But, in my opinion,  opening for Black Sabbath would be an insult.

I say bring back AFI or gtfo. I'd kill to be at one of the shows they played together. In general, I don't care for openers all that much because I can't focus on anything when I'm too excited for something else haha.

That show would have been amazing to go to.
Sadly, not only was I 13 at the time, but I would have arrived back from being outside the country a few hrs prior to the Holmdel show (which I don't even think is accessible via public transportation).

Can we just have a show in which Green Day simply plays the entire night? No openers or anything? That'd be great.

so back to the whole studio thing...

I'm interested to see who the producer is. if not rob then who? i wouldn't mind another butch vig album but i have a feeling he's not doing this one.

i was reading yesterday that for the new weezer album they had some 30 year old produce it, and he wanted to put rivers in the same mindset he was in back when he wrote the blue album. obviously, green day won't be going back to a dookie mindset, and actually i don't think any producer is going to have any influence over billie's writing, but i do like the idea of an album being produced by a younger guy who grew up on green day and seeing what he does with them, i feel like it could breathe some life into em

i have no issue with opening bands, i just wish green day would get better ones. back in the 90's they had great ones like pansy division, riverdales, MTX, and Samiam. then they started getting crap like My Chemical Romance. It'd be cool if they had some sort of contest where local bands compete to open for them on their tour dates, new opener every night that gets their music exposed to a ton of people. A few years ago they had Lipstick Homicide open a show for them, and they are a great band, I wish they'd have more bands like them open

Do we know for sure Rob isn't doing it? I would like to see another Bitch (oh why have I never realised that u and i are right next on the keyboard???) Vig album but in case it's not him I'd like to see someone who does not focus on this type of music. The more I'm thinking about it the better this idea. Or maybe they could self-produce. Idk, do something different.
