Dan3siko
Yeah, if they are tracking bass right now, I seriously doubt a release before summer

greenalert997x
I read we can hear the Rickenbacker in all genres, from Metallica to the disco rythmes of the Bee Gees and the guitars have very distinctive sound, (people who play bass has already known it :D) I also saw a list of Rickenbacker players and the most notable players were Cliff Burton and Lemmy Kilmister but most of them also play/played in indie-rock, power-pop bands. It's interesting because Mike hasn't played Rickenbacker before, I just feel excited about whatever is going to be, I guess they gonna introduce some changes, trilogy should to be a good lesson

Siddharth_471
Having some notable players like Cliff Burton, Lemmy, Geddy Lee, Rickenbacker has surely got a plus point and not only that, their bass playing has also made it sound exactly like a rythm guitar. And I can already see Mike ripping on it Also this will be Tre's debut with SJC drums.

localinsomniac
Wow, it's been a long time (Insomniac?) since Mike's used anything but Fender on a record, unless I missed something. There was an article leading up to AI where he talked about having this Gretsch Broadkaster that he wanted to use for maybe WMUWSE, but of course I can't find it now. I also can't remember if that was for studio or live use. What did Tré play on the trilogy; was it Gretsch? Ludwig? Edit: Akshat says SJC. I'm not sure about that. I'm not sure about that. i read it somewhere that, Tre wanted a new drum kit, so he tested every brand but SJC's aluminum finish suited him the best, so he got deeper with that brand. but still No offence, please correct me if im wrong! localinsomniac
Nah you might be right, that sounds familiar. I'm looking but can't find anything from before January 2014. Could just be when he decided to make his endorsement official.

I remember the first time we heard about it was after they had recorded the trilogy, but maybe he did use it to record. I'm watching bits of Cuatro to see if I can see but no luck. And I refuse to think that they're still tracking bass does anyone know where that pic may be from?

Paul McCartney used one too, with later Beatles and with Wings...It's about time Mike picked up a Rick, it's a perfect sound for Green Day! Fuzz
Don't we have any images of Tre recording the trilogy to see what drums he used? This is the only one I could find on GDA from Cuatro
localinsomniac
I hope he goes the Lemmy route with the Ric. It would be awesome to hear some growling, throaty, distorted bass sounds on this album.
Beerjeezus
I wonder what the actual promo will look like. Yesterday I read a 2013 interview with Mike in which he said they couldn't continue the way they worked before when they spent 28 hours a day working. During the 2013/2014 tour they really did cut down the number of interviews and didn't do a load of promotion. It will be really intesting to see how they'll approach the promo for #revrad. Akshat Jain
Tre used Gretsch Drums for recording Triology, ( i saw this in The Forgotten music video, also in the start of Cuatro). @Siddharth_471 you were right Mate, Cheers! but he did used SJC Drums in recording Tracks for Dead Mermaid, so he isn't using SJC Drums first time in studio. Chin for a Day
They had posted alot of pictures of equipment that is generally used for a more raw song, like old classic rock. Wouldn't that bass fit in with that as well?

Park Amps +Boss BD2 + (Rick and Precision Combined) + idk if they're using DS1 (If they're using it, it'll be Rad when combined with BD2 And SD1) + TS9 = Obese Awesomeness
Maddie86
i don't know a ton about drum brands but i wasn't a fan of the drum sounds on the trilogy. Nimrod, Warning, and 21st Century have great drum sounds though!
