I'm excited for a potentially new sound and hoping for a really tight album. Sound doesn't much matter to me as long as it doesn't sound like You-Know-What.

So it is now the album that must not be named?

yes and it is now officially very socially frowned-upon to name them.

Well, he's an official member now so I imagine he would be.

Would they ever post something from the studio so we can all lose our shit again and over analyse everything in the photo and come up with even more wacky theories of what the album be like

He is and who needs the argument. Also, even if he's not in the studio with them, I reckon Billie would just track guitars and double them up. In short, regardless of whether Jason is recording with them or not, the end product will be the same.

Heres a question... if Green Day is planning on releasing this new album in the fall, do you think they will start performing in the summer?

i hear they're recording a country album inspired by David Allan Coe's X-Rated Hits

Sounds like more of a Tre solo album. I could see him doing a good cover of "fuckin in the butt"

Here's something interesting!! Billie Tweeted somewhere about January 12  that he's starting a new religion called Lemmology !! So i Guess "Reverend" = Revrad. But still it can mean something else as well!!

He tweeted that in honour of Motorhead frontman, Lemmy. There's no hidden clue related to a new album in it.

The thing is, we don't even have an announcement for a new album yet, let alone a planned release date or a tour.

I wonder if they will put any effort in making a good music video. If they continue to make videos like they did with the tril... I mean the ones after 21CB and before this new album then I would think they don't care much for music videos anymore.

I think the concept of rock/punk video is getting very, very stale - as in, a scene where band plays, a scene where something else is going on, rinse, repeat. And Green Day is no exception. I might as well say that most Green Day videos are very conservative, regarding the concept written above, especially the older and post 21stCB ones. Not that they don't care much for videos, it's just a matter of budget I think. Early and post 21stCB videos were filmed within a small/tiny budget, plus the band was not quite as popular at the time.

I think they'll take the Homecoming / JOS / DRB thing of mashing songs together to the next level, and play the whole album as one song

And there's DookieLukie being a cunt over a harmless bit of wishful thinking.

He said nothing worse than what some other people have said and the other party didn't even seem to take offense, your reaction was way out of line

Yeah can the hostility be turned down a bit in this thread please? There's really no need for it.

I agree, I can't deal with any more videos like that! What's really good is when you get a band who likes to be involved in the creative process or do more acting etc in the video than just showing up and playing the song. Green Day seem more the type to leave it to the director but I think they're at least up for a bit of acting/not just playing the song if that's what the director wants so I hope to see that. I guess it's going to depend on the directors they choose and like you say the budget. Pop and rap artists are making the most interesting, ambitious and artistic music videos in years right now and rock acts need to step their game up, really hoping Green Day will.

The only Green Day music video I ever truly enjoyed was the one for 21CBD. That was actually super creative and very visually interesting and fit the music and tone of the album extremely well, I thought. The music video for AI was fun as well, but is very much of its time and definitely nothing to write home about.
