My thoughts exactly. Though for 21CB they announced the album release at the Grammy Awards. Not sure when that event takes place.. February?

Not that they would do that exact same way of announcing, but considering it is February, there's still a possibility they might announce it within now and a month.
But I highly doubt it.

The Grammys are tonight.

No bullshit but my best friends dad works for a touring company for all big artists for when they tour in Australia (he's worked from nirvana to green day, foo fighters etc) and even heard the trilogy about a month before it even came out. I spoke to him the other day and he confirmed to me that their album is coming out VERY soon, around April/may.

Once again I know this sounds incredibly fake and hard to believe but trust me. I wish I asked what revrad and whatever meant but I didn't. I'll keep you guys posted. Oh, and one more thing. For all Australian fans, he confirmed they'll be here early next year

Okay now I'm even MORE excited jfc. Please don't lie to me I take my hype very seriously.

Don't crush my dreams.

Well, I really don't know when they will put it out there that the album's happening and when it will come out. But Green Day's bigger concerts, arena or open airs, are usually announced 4-6 months in advance. So if they are playing bigger shows this summer already, then they have to announce them soon!

i'm so excited oh man oh man.

I just hope I don't miss the U.S. leg of their tour because if they release the album in the spring the tour should be happening in the fall I imagine??

It's extremely possible, I hope we hear something soon. I can just see people wondering WTF if this April/May thing with an early 2017 Oz tour doesn't pan out.

One thing I wonder is that if the album is coming in about 2-3 months why didn't we get to see the album title, track list, cover art or even an official announcement till now?

All I can say is that I do hope this is real. I don't want to rain on a parade or spoil the hype - all i'm saying is that this feels completely surreal. It's difficult to process the fact that we're discussing Green Day in the studio let alone that there should be a tour. I won't be able to stop worrying this is just wishful thinking until we know it for sure. It just seems a bit far-fetched that we're just 2 months away from a new record. I'm not saying we aren't...it's just a bit too awesome to be true.

Yeah, that's the only thing I can think of but @BillyjoelxkidXx's comment about LA seems out of nowhere and with no context.

How do you guys think Green Day will announce and promote this new album?

I hope it comes with a bang!

I'm just guessing here but as far as I understood that comment this guy who got the backstage passes works in LA for some ticket company or whatever.

And now i wish they announce something tonight at the grammys.
Idk i still cant believe we'll get an album this may I hope it's true though. No offense to the two guys who posted this "inside info" they don't look like fake trolls with 2 posts but i still can't 100% believe something like that i read on the internet!

I do think the promotion for this album will be very low key compared to the vomiting of songs that was the trilogy's pre-rehab promotion. I think by the time Uno came out we heard over half of its tracks in some capacity? This time around, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see much of anything until the album actually comes out. Although I take rumors with a grain of salt, I personally think what's being said is believable...

I have to agree with the other poster.  I think she meant her friend was in LA.  All I can say it is not her style to post something like that if she truly didn't believe it.

I'm still very cautious in believing in something until I see it, but if multiple people have confirmed this now that's pretty exciting! :D

Gah, same. Fall is when I technically could be jobless so if the tour happens then I might have to miss out this time around. :(

How far ahead of a tour does the band typically announce dates? I believe the trilogy tour was announced in the fall, pre-rehab, so maybe August...? And that was set to start in December or January?

I don't think there is any set standard of when tour dates are announced.  I just did a scan of other artists and Adele announed in Jan, tour starting in July.  Coldplay announed in NOv tour starting in April and Dave Matthews announed in Jan tour starting in March.  So, it could be as little as 2 months or as long as 6 months , based on my very well run statistical analysis.
