Green Day in the studio 2016

I think a Green Day album produced by will.i.am could be cool. I think Billie was probably thinking of some of Black Eyed Peas' cheesier singles when he said that but they've also made good songs, and he's also a very experienced producer who's worked with a wide range of different artists. However Billie taking a selfie with him is really no reason to think he will :P

Also are people completely going with the "destroy pop punk" thing? He said "destroy the phrase pop punk", seems highly possible he was just saying he disliked the phrase.

His statement was really ambigious in general. Pop punk's not even really a phrase but an established genre. If for some reason the name of the genre annoys him so much, that's quite a petty annoyance to have.

I can't believe we are actually discussing that tweet. It's literally the cheesiest thing he could say

Why do people think that will.I.am is producing the new album just because he was pictured with Billie? A few years ago Billie was pictured with Alice Cooper- is nobody going to suggest that he will feature on the new album just because he was pictured with Billie?! Just because people are having their pictures taken with Billie doesn't mean they will produce/feature on an album. They're only photographs.

I don't really think he was serious, I was just joking :D I thought my post was obviously exaggerated enough

Billie dislikes the Peas. I remember him saying at my concert on the 2010 tour when he was bending bad notes on his guitar and bantering that it "sounds like a Black Eyed Peas song." Then again, he changes his mind a lot.

"Seasons change as well as minds and I'm a two-faced clown" -Billie

Back when he posted it people were really upset because he had always disliked BEP and they were scared that he "joined the dark side" and the next album would be Trilogy niveau (understandably in my opinion). They want the pre-trilogy Green Day back. Because, you know, Will.I.Am makes pop music. Will.I.Am producing the album is actually a possibility because he is practically more producer than singer. I posted the pic because people were already speculating about the producer and I remembered the discussion from months ago. And as far as I now Alice Cooper isn't a producer.

It might not even mean anything, maybe they just met somewhere. Maybe Billie find the idea just as ridiculous. It was just strange, is all. We don't know, that's why we're speculating. :D

I was really unimpressed (and afraid) with the idea in the beginning, but now I think I will just wait and see if it is true. Maybe Will.I.Am will produce it, maybe he won't. If he produces it, the album could still be a masterpiece, I have no idea. I'll judge when I have listened to it :) It's pointless to express how much everybody hates him until we get the product. (we could blame him later lol)

Will has produced music in a lot of genres from rap to R&B to pop to a blues album and even did a few country songs

i know! with "he makes music" i meant the songs he is actually featured in, like, as a singer. like the black eyed peas. not the ones he produces. wrong choice of words :P

You don't need a valid source, just valid reasoning.

I just can't see Will.I.am ever producing something for GD. People are putting two and two together because of a photograph. Let's face it- if we'd never seen that photo of the two of them together, would anyone on here ever suggest that Will.I.am would produce the album?

he isn't a bad producer at all, though. However GD has used Cavallo for almost everything excluding Warning and 21stCBD

And even with Warning Rob is listed as an executive producer.

They should have John Feldmann produce the album. ;)

*Googles "John Feldmann discography"*

*looks for albums i like*

Ehhhhh, I'm not sure that I personally would like that kind of sound because, from what I've seen, he seems to be more involved with poppier pop-punk bands and metalcore outfits (I hate metalcore and idk why; I guess it's just not my cup of tea at all). Then again, I don't know any producers who usually do alt rock records justice because I'm so out of touch with that branch of music. If he's one of them, great. As for will.i.am, I'm not familiar with his production work, but I'm not really a fan of his music.

In response to the Linkin Park stuff up above, I thought that A Thousand Suns was kind of forgettable. I listened to it once or twice, but the only track that I remember and like is "Iridescent".

P.S. A track featuring Alice Cooper would be sick, Billie, if you're reading this.
