They're not Weezer.

I didn't even realize this, but now that you've pointed this out, the new record is so effective because of how concise it is. It would be awesome for Green Day to head in this direction as well.

oh come on, I know the blog you mean and deluded is more appropriate than 'creepy stalker'. she's definitely in her own bubble and she's naive sure but she's never claimed to be a friend, never claimed to know anything other than what people tell her and I've certainly not seen her suggesting what she knows they're up to on the daily. I just think there are definitely worse fans to hate on. She's harmless.

besides, you do the exact same thing - you constantly claim to know EXACTLY where billie might have been on any given day to prove someone else wrong ("billie was not at pipeline to a cure") and I'm far more alarmed by some of the stuff you post about family members than I am the girl on the blog.

Idk, I followed the blog for awhile on Tumblr, and I definitely found it pretty creepy and obsessive about Billie and Adrienne. Mind you, this was three years ago or so. Maybe it's more normal now; I wouldn't know.

I also can't speak for st_trillie because I haven't been on this forum long enough (or even very long at all, but this is my second account on this site, and I stopped using my first one two years ago or so), but I don't really find her creepy from what I've seen so far. If she does post this stuff, maybe it's all just meant in good fun?

Well both the albums before Dookie were that length, weren't they? I wouldn't complain if they're really good tracks:)

No. 1039 was almost an hour long and kerplunk was 42 minutes.

1039 was a compilation, 39/smooth was only about 31 minutes

1039 was a compilation of 39/smooth, slappy, and 1000 hours, they tacked on 2 EP's to that album

Trust me that is literally THE most normal stuff posted on her tumblr and the stuff least likely to make you want to scream. The hideous analysis of Mike/Britt and Tre/Sara relationships and how Tre never stays with anyone and Sara is bisexual and dating Candice and Sara's bio on IG about being an "extreme unicorn trainer" is proof as is her and Brittney's tattoos of unicorns. She spends loads of time shit talking about the others to "prove" that Billie and Adrienne are perfect...obviously

I'll take your word for it, because there is zero chance I get anywhere near that page.

Keplunk was 33:58 in original form without bonus tracks, and (I meant 39/smooth not 1039) was 31:20

Sorry late in reply

I don't think what the girl does is creepy. Oh yeah, she adores Billie and Adrienne like a lot and lately she has answered a number of very questionable asks  (what trillie mentioned, anon who claimed to be Joey's friend talking about BJ's relatationship with Joey, asks about Billie's sex life etc). It's absolutely harmless. Real stalkers are people who hack accounts not her.

Edit: hello to the fine pal who reposts this on Tumblr

She posts private photos constantly, where do you think they come from? She even discusses Jakob's girlfriend. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but anyone who discusses Billie's sex life and discusses Sara and Tre's sex life on a blog is creepy to me.

Oh my, I must have tuned it out. Discussing Jakob's gf wasn't appropriate and neither were the sex life talks, she doesn't seem to filter the asks much. Idk how many of the pictures she posts are private....but I'd say the creepy stuff pops up only once in a while.

To add onto this, we do have enough evidence to strongly assume that Green Day was in the process of recording a music video. It could be possible for the video to be premiered at the VMA's. Just a thought.

Edit: Followed by a performance of course :)

Yes this was speculated for about 2 hours last week - it was fun.  WhiteTim said  there was a possibility of finding out up to a month out who with be appearing - fingers crossed.

Sweet! Makes perfect sense too after Billies tweets mixed with their relationship with the VMA's. Not sure if that was already mentioned but just throwing it out there just in case!

Well Billie was less than complimentary about the VMA's last year.

On Twitter he had a go off MTV

"just watched VMAs. seriously @MTV not a single young rock n roll band? there r great up and coming rock bands headlining festivals AND on social media. what thee hell?"

If I was him I would of just not of spoke out and been on better terms with VMA's. VMA's got it right not putting generic bands on their show last year.

MTV, not a great source for good music.

Billie had a good point. The lack of rock they had, kind of sucked of them.

I normally listen to a ton of metal, more so than every other genre, but I have absolutely been straight-up binge-listening to it lately--Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Uriah Heep, Mercyful Fate, Diamond Head, Testament, Exodus, Bathory, Celtic Frost, Death, Death Angel, Venom, and Overkill in particular. And I've decided that I absolutely want Green Day to go with a heavier, edgier sound on the new album. By all accounts it's finished, so I guess I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed. I know that shredding guitar solos, structural complexity/progginess, camp fantasy lyrics, and overall pretentious instrumental wankery are the antithesis of punk and what it was meant for, but I really wanna see GD branch out from power chords. I know for a fact that Billie's got mad talent (he's a monster on rhythm IMO, very solid, and I remember watching an old bootleg in which GD covered about 5 seconds of Slayer during a concert--it made me very happy, so say the least), and that GD can play with speed. I just want the intensity and virtuosity to be ramped up for this release. C'mon, it's defs gonna be a political record, and even though I know that I wouldn't agree with the lyrics, I want Billie to funnel that anger and sense of dread (I'm pretty sure that he was a Bernie supporter and that most of them don't like Hillary, much less Trump) about our future into the music. Turn the intensity up to 11! I know that a lot of bands write music like they have something to prove after a commercial and/or critical flop (see Priest's return to form after Turbo, the viciousness of Megadeth's Dystopia after the heavily-panned Super Collider, and Maiden's amazing Brave New World). I want the relative failure of the Trilogy to light a bonfire underneath GD's arses, and to make them write like they have something to prove again. This is my absolute favorite band in the world, and that's saying something considering my ardent love for Priest and Maiden, and I want them to be on top of the world again. People say that Green Day is no longer punk rock? Good! I'm actually glad. That was a phase of their career that had its time and has now gone, IMO. Now's the time to play like the experienced professionals that they are, and not the snotty, bratty punks they once were. I know that they can write some kickass alt rock. I want to tell Billie to focus on that aspect of Green Day. Write a hard-hitting, bitingly vicious, undeniably fantastic alt rock record with thoughful lyrics (there's honestly no chance at all of them going metal so I've dropped that from my new album wishlist) like AI. We all know that Steven Seagull dislikes AI, but from what I know most GD fans hail it as a tremendous return to form and as a masterpiece. That is exactly what I want in terms of the entire album. As for sound, mix it up! Grittier guitars, rawer vocals (with the occasional scream--I actually love Billie's screams as much I love Rob Halford's :)), more complex arrangements, and more displays of GD's technical prowess would really "destroy pop punk", as Billie himself puts it. This is what I want in the new record. Now I've just got to get Billie's favorite fan to ask him to consider all of these requests. :P

I have a tendency to do that even in school papers, hahah. I'm one of those people who goes on tangents and bores the pants off others just by talking. I love to talk, especially about music, so you can imagine how long these posts would get if I didn't exert any measure of self-control over my fingers. That paragraph, if you can even call it that, was actually an example of me showing restraint. :)

Yes, that's a complaint that my teachers often have with me: that I often elaborate on the smallest and most insignificant details (I've always had a love affair with parentheses; I like to stick side details in parentheses to say something that I'm dying to blurt out but that wouldn't quite relate to the main subject) in my essays, thus disrupting the flow of the writing and unintentionally taking focus off the topic at hand. I'm working on it. You might have read my monstrosity of a rant on the RnRHoF in the "Random Green Day Thoughts" thread.
