Not at all. The TL;DR of everything I've said is that we should be patient and not pretend like something is imminent, because it's not.

So when's the next Irving, Webster, or Berlin show? Lol

Since a lot of people seem to have forgotten, misinterpreted or missed it, a little summary. This is the quote that started this whole thing:

Amen. I still expect an announcement before the end of July, a single before September and an album before the GE.

Yep.

Assuming that Matt is confident about his sources (it seems like he is) and that there are no delays (it's still Green Day management we're talking about), this means that:

  • The announcement will come within the next two weeks
  • A single will come before September, not before the end of September as many have been saying on the past few pages.
  • The album will drop before the GE, i.e. most likely October (taking into account that Billie Joe was hoping to release it this fall), but this doesn't rule out an earlier release.

He also hinted that it is a confirmation of what we were realistically expecting. In other words, don't expect everything to drop all at once this week, but know that good things are coming our way. :)

It's funny because at this rate, September is when we'll hear news

edit: smh I'm not funny don't worry

LOL  I wasn't actually referencing the song. I just meant that I'm really bored with all the speculation and hope we hear something official from the band soon.

So much speculation and what not to catch up in only a few pages...

From what I understood: don't wait, but soon.

Despite almost being 20 and going to school in a different state, my parents would flip out if I suddenly decided to travel to another state hours away for a show.

It can be quite frustrating xD

I absolutely understand them though :D

A single in August sounds promising along with an October release. That means the tour in September that Jason mentioned a while back, is still possible. Tours usually begin before the albums drop.

But if the tour starts in September, shouldn't everything such as the single, album, and tour dates have been announced by now? And I'm pretty sure there should be ticket sales months in advance, am I right?

The proper longer-bigger tour itself should start later with the album already released. Before the album (probably already with the single/announcement) we should get some specific shows, like they did Irving Plaza and Echoplex for the trilogy.

I'm just going to submit this reply because for some reason even signing out isn't enough to delete this accidental quote and it will not allow me to delete either box

Yea, it's unlikely. It's still possible though. If they tour in September, it'll prob be small shows and promotional shows, followed by the big tour in October/November. For the trilogy, they played small shows announced weeks prior to the event. That was in spetmeber too, which is when UNO was released. I'm honestly surprised they haven't announced anything. They announced the trilogy like 3 or so months before it came out, same with Breakdown. Nowadays it seems like bands announce albums just a month before its release  though, so who knows how they'll do it. I'd be shocked if they don't announce the album by August

Yea the big tour will prob begin after the album released. However, they usually get announced and go on sale before the actual release of the album. I agree, they'll prob do small shows and promotional shows in September

Thanks for this  My post was also true but much more vague.

Yes! I believe the announcement would include the big tour dates as well if they announce it by August. There would be enough time for ticket selling. The small concerts shouldn't demand such time

I'm kinda disappointed that the single is coming out at the end of September. That's so long from now, well at least it seems like that. I was kinda hoping for something in late August.

Nobody said the single is coming out in September. Just saying.

We KNOW nothing, we have Matts information which is a great comfort, but still isn't official

And then we have everyone else picking dates out of thin air because they dreamed them or some other shit

Hey, do you know the name of album, songs or "only" the single/album dates?

You not need say the name or something like that...

The less I have to travel for this the better considering I'll be dragging at least one way less excited person with me :P

Yeah, same here. My parents are the same way. I wanted to go to an AC/DC show just a couple of miles from my hometown, and my parents insisted that I had to bring at least one of them and one non-male friend. Same for a Megadeth show earlier on this year. Hell, I'm not even allowed to go to a Led Zeppelin tribute basically in our backyard alone, and my parents hate rock music. There's also the matter of spending money on a ticket for someone who probably won't enjoy a loud rock concert as much as I will. The point being, I hope that GD announces tour dates a month or two in advance and schedules at least one within a ten-mile radius of where I live, so I'll have plenty of time to soften up my parents and to coax them into letting their 17-year-old daughter attend a show by herself.
