Hey @Matt. If you had to pick a favorite month out of the three... A month that for whatever reason (no specific reason in particular) you feel will bring the most excitement to the most amount of people in 2016... would it be July, August, or September? :D

I wish! I still live with parents and I'm pretty sure they'll won't accept it at all/won't let me go unless one of them goes with me and if that happens I'll have to pay for their trip too :D I might pretend I'm going on a sleepover lol I just imagined it

-Bye mom, I'm sleeping at my friend's tonight

-So what do you need your passport for?

The fact that you're 18 doesn't make it okay? If not, I hope they won't play far from where you live. :)

As for the tour I hope they come to Newcastle :D. I've looked to see when they last came to Newcastle and it was 2005 and I've never seen them before. But I agree with what others are saying: we need tour dates.

While other people hope they come to their country. British people are hoping for them to play in the city they live in. :P

Well so do I! (Frankly, my city is where things happen here haha.)

I don't think they have become any less strict since I turned 18...

Hopefully we'll both be happy when they announce dates in Newcastle and Norway

My reason for wanting them to come to Newcastle: I don't have much holiday leave left... only two days this year that I have not already booked off. And I've yet to book off 10 days holiday for next year. So I'm not exactly flexible with being able to see them elsewhere if they don't come to Newcastle. Hopefully they will come here.... but hopefully not when I'm on holiday abroad

I love you all. Waking up and reading through these last couple pages has been better than a morning cup of coffee.

It's different when it comes to capital cities in my opinion. England has always been super spoiled when it comes to gigs.

I see. Then I hope it works out for you. :)

I get it. It's always more convenient if they come close to where you live. But the distances between the big cities in England are rather small compared to other places.

I doubt it, because 1) he seems too intelligent to abuse people's trust and risk damaging a relationship with them just to tell us stuff and 2) more importantly, he hasn't really said anything.  'Soon' is no less ambiguous than anything the band's said, single by the end of September was >95% likely anyway, and again, very ambiguous timeframe, people on here would be insane if there was nothing by then.  So really, all @Matt. has said is that he knows something that we don't.  He hasn't actually said what he knows.  It just happens that we can infer from the fact that he knows something that things are going on and that we're increasingly likely to get something as time goes on.

Bingo

I honestly don't care if they release the single only by September, all I'm waiting for right now is the official announcement. If it comes out before July ends, I'll already be satisfied.

Well, my birthday is in October, so I've always loved that month. But not everyone (read: no one) here cares about that. And that month wasn't on your list of choices.

However, I can't say a specific month because plans can change, but one of two out of those three will bring a lot of excitement.

Just what we've been thinking all along, huh?

This back-and-forth is both amusing and interesting. You might be able to glean something by reading deeper between the lines.

The album news should at least be out by next month. Usually they give 2 to 3 months heads up. I'm assuming they'll announce the news next month, and maybe a single in September. That'll put the album in an October/November spot. Kinda bummed, I'll probably miss out on the shows since I work when tickets usually go on sale..

Hey Matt, you wouldn't know if the bands planning any small shows in the city like Irving Plaza again, would you? Lol

I've never heard this! What an enjoyable little pop-folk tune

If you ask me, not a chance. I think this song was meant for the movie only. I don't see the added value of recycling this song for a new Green Day album

How can a song without an official release be recycled, exactly?

They've never released a song for a movie and then put it on album. It's always been the other way around.

And? Precedent has proven to be meaningless time and time again in 2016 music industry

I really really doubt they'll announce an album without releasing a single simultaneously. I'm pretty sure that's just common practice these days.

I don't know if Matt's information is good or bad for me. Because now i'm really, really going insane. :P

Anyway I'm italian and i live in Rome so I'll have to wait for the Europe tour. I hope they come to my city, but if they don't i'll have to go to another italian city to see them (such as Milan, it's the best city for shows). I won't be able to go abroad.

That's true actually. The past year or so bands have been doing that a lot. Not that long ago everyone released the news a month or so before releasing the actual first single, including green day. Who knows what they'll do. I think we are getting the news by late August though

So no one has reliable information and every month that goes by people are saying it has got to be the next month for sure?  I am ok with a Green Day album coming out in 2017 and I will probably find out else where on the web since this thread got me no where this far  even with all this activity lol

Thanks :) I'm going to come up with something...

Capital cities are entitled to a show, obviously :P

Compared to Norway for example :D

No one knows anything for sure. This thread is full of speculation and yet some of it is the most definite info on the topic out there. GDC might be the only place talking about it.

Yeah it's far too large to navigate efficiently, the news will break on twitter or IG and then be reported back here anyway, may as well just wait for it there :P

Except it won't be 2017.
