Isn't that just the regular hole bass drums sometimes have?

I was just thinking that! haha. But why cover it up if it's part of the drum? For aesthetic reasons?

I play drums. And yes: Tre always used just one hi-tom.

His tour set looks like this:

Bassdrum, Snare, Hi-Tom, Floor Tom 1, Floor Tom 2

Hi-Hat, Crash 1, Crash 2, Crash Ride, Ride, China

well am I blind or isn't their one cymbal less? Crash Ride or China?

It's hard to see if it is covered up or if it only seems covered up with the Instagram compression going on.

But the white shapes are above the hole.

You are right. China is missing.

Just to be a stickler (i realize this is probably about his current set up) but didnt he use three toms for some of their performances and possible tours of Dookie?  two up top and one floor?

Could be. But I know from American Idiot on that he uses just one hi-tom.

You are definitely correct about that! (btw I love his 2 floor toms oh god they sound dynamite)

He used two hanging toms until Dookie tour after that he plays only one.

On the other note, I wish Tre to play double bass drums.

There's definitely something that's been erased. But why would they put a logo there?? Logos are usually bigger. It doesn't look like a hole either, plus there would be no reason to cover it because it's part of the bass.

I always love Tre's simpleness. In playing and setting up his drums.

and i'd love to see Tre destroying this drum set in a music video O:)

His Silver glittered Les Paul Junior from the trilogy was one of his Signature model juniors, however the Glitterburst is a legitimate 1954 Les Paul Junior.

So BJ has glittered a genuine vintage guitar, that sucks

When he aquired it, it already had been refinished  , it wasn't the original finish, and it was pretty ugly. The luthier posted a picture of it "before" the glitter, and stated as much. So Billie Joe's glitter treatment was not over the original

If I recall, he used a Trash more than a China on the Trilogy tour, but he's definitely one cymbal short.

As for the shape on the right, that looks to me like a port hole, possibly with a template on it, waiting to be cut. There is a chance that the drum could be black on the inside, and with the combination of the angle, lighting and Instagram quality, it just looks un-cut, but that seems unlikely.

For the Trilogy Tour, Tre switched from a China to a big Crash, so he then had 4 Crashes and no ChinawTeG5ZsNl1k.jpg

It does kind of look like something was there, or it's a combination of lighting and the artifacts created by Instagram's heavy compression of the image. That shape towards the right side of the drum is a little odd.

You may be right. In this other photo the part was not shown:

OK, seemed a shame to glitter it if it had its' original burst
