Man, came back to the thread with 40+ responses since I saw it last, thinking that some big news broke, but JK nope...

Nope, just a selfie from Billie.

I'd like to hear eight measures of Jason, too.

I really have to disagree here.  His voice is like nails on chalkboard

I just hope Mike to add some interesting bass lines (and tone) on the new album, like he did on the trilogy . AI and 21stCB...a little bit lazy, mr. Dirnt.

A 30 second song on the new record?   Why not - Blink-182's new record has two songs that 30 seconds or less.

And I still think they might be the best songs on the album... :P

You shouldn't have mentioned that now hipster green day fans will start saying that blink sucks :(

Yeah, they're promoting a No. 1 album right now. Man, they're terrible. :P

Not lazy at all. He was really aiming for a more simplistic tight bass sound on both records.

Are they in abbey road now?

Hmm. The photo Mike posted last night was from LA as he was at Brian Wilson's show at the Hollywood Bowl (July 10th). If they are in London, that's a pretty quick turn around... I'm guessing she's posting photos from a previous trip. Or, she's there without Mike.

Do they still record Live at Abbey Roads?

They do rent the studio for events, maybe a video shoot?

Or maybe vacation?

The last time they were there (I think) was during 21CB promo recording a live session for TV and live track releases for singles and EPs.

any chance of it being on the new album? its a good ballad i think

If you ask me, not a chance. I think this song was meant for the movie only. I don't see the added value of recycling this song for a new Green Day album

Hopefully just on the Geezer soundtrack (not known to be a thing at this point).

It is a decent ballad.  However, I was at the Geezer premier and I got the impression he was not thrilled with it.  Also, we heard the song, it is good, not great.  I would not want to waste space for a new song on the album for one we have already heard.

To be honest, if he was going to include anything, I think the songs from These Paper Bullets were far superior to the tracks from Geezer.

I wouldn't mind it being a hidden track on the new album though

Why aren't there studio versions of the soundtrack's songs? They didn't release a cd with music for the film? If not why did billie wrote all these songs?

During Geezer premiere, you could hear some studio version version of these songs?

There were only 3 songs that I know of.  He played Ordinary World and Devils Kind in the film itself and then there was one other song that played during the credits, called I think, Body Bag.  they had a ton of songs listed in the soundtrack including some SWMRS songs and Jakub's songs, but I don't recall them being played.

It is rare for an independent film to have a soundtrack release.

There were recorded versions in the film and he played them live.

It might be a nice song but new album means new songs and that's what I hope to get. I wouldn't like an album with songs i've already heard and movie soundtracks

Mike is a weak singer but it's fun to hear him for about eight measures per album.  He great for Billie's harmony, though.  He usually sings a third higher, it sounds nice, like Everly Brothers.

I'd like to hear eight measures of Jason, too.

Check out Pinehead Gunpowder, they have some awesome songs and you'll get to hear Jason singing.

Now I'm afraid to! The consensus here is that he sucks!

It's funny, we got the same impression. It also sounded incomplete to me, it seemed to end abruptly, as if he only wrote enough to fill the scene in the movie where he sings it. It could have used another verse or two , a bridge (Billie Joe excels at writing Bridges, IMO, ) and another round of chorus. Hubby who is purely objective, unlike me, said that he sang it like he didn't like it and that it was the "blow off track. "

I don't want the Geezer songs on the album, I want new songs, too.

I wonder how much we will be able hear Jason singing on the new album?

(Oh I didn't look at the previous page)
