So is anyone thinking album title/tour dates.

http://www.mtv.com/news/1689831/green-day-oh-love-crotch-area/

is it this.....

No, I don't think so.  I'm not sure where I saw it.  But, even that article says that the video was supposed to show a "leading with your dick" kind of lifestyle and I see that in the video.  I guess the controversy is whether anyone agrees with whether they should have taken that approach.

I don't necessarily like the video, but I don't dislike it either.  It is just kind of there.

I think the Oh Love video perfectly demonstrates the problem with the trilogy.

"Shooting from the crotch" or thinking with your dick generally doesn't get you particularly far in life and the trilogy was no exception. Bravo Billie for the exceptional regression though.

That had nothing to do with the lack of success of the trilogy. There simply was no band to promote it. Period.

I hated the "Oh Love" video when it first came out. Although I think it didn't help the song get more popular, now I believe it fits the song very well and sort of presents the "pre-party" idea of UNO very well. It's just boring though.

I honestly had no problem with the music video. It's the song that I disliked; I found it bland. I do love Kill the DJ, though.

I never mentioned success. I couldn't care less about sales.

Same here. The song has grown on me since. At least I don't think it's so awful as I did before. The video seems to be hours long, though.

I'm not sure how I feel about Static Age. I enjoy it when it comes on but I've never felt it was as special as many fans think.

I used to dislike Oh Love but it has grown on me. I love it when it comes on the radio  (that's the way I got used to it) and I don't skip it anymore now. It's an above average song and I'd have fun singing along to it at a show, but I don't feel like listening to it often.

I liked the bits of the video where they all come in separately with their own instruments, especially Tre casually walking up and then getting into it in like 1/4 of a second.  Definitely wouldn't be fussed if none of the new videos are like it though.  Maybe something like WICA, but higher production value and updated, would be cool for the new album.  21 guns is a great video too, quite arty.

Hard to say for sure what I'd want in a video until we've heard the songs, because even the best video is rubbish with the wrong song.

Does Billie joe smoke a cig in the video? I think thats why I liked it besides the pretty women.. I like seeing Billie smoke for some reason.. hmm a lil self reflection might be in order

That would be me then - it was creepy.  Having said that I loved Oh Love it used to play at the same time everyday when I got off the train.  There was a lot of hype for Uno here & I have said it a million times that if iheart/rehab had not happened the trilogy would have done well.

You're welcome to join us in the fangirls thread :P

I agree it has its appeal.

Okay so I have now finally watched the vid. I agree with the points made. The song is good don't get me wrong but I think the theme for the video was completely wrong. Enjoyable to watch I will admit. But I will post my opinions in the fangirl thread XD. I think that video would have been better for makeout party or even fuck time if it wasn't gonna be subject to censoring. I just think they missed the point with it. Dunno if anyone agrees.

The RHCP album leaked just two days before official release, I expected that to happen earlier.

But particularly I hate listening new albums this way.  I'm curious how people will prefer to listen GD's new one for the first time (oh wait, are they really recording one?)

Spotify? CD? Low quality leaked audio? Driving the car around just to don't get interrupted (I like this one)?

I think it will be a few weeks before a spotify release surely? I know foos and muse albums were out like a week or two later. It may take spotify a while to get permissions? I don't know.

I'm gonna quite happily listen to low quality leaks if they come out. Just anything to hear even 30 seconds.

I didn't like Oh Love much, especially not as first single, but it feels so if different when played live.

Definitely going to try and wait until I have the CD in my hand this time.

I have waited this long - I will be a good fan & pay for everything once it becomes available.  I love the feeling of buying a new release on the first day & the excitement of playing it for the first time.

I guess I'm just too impatient lol.

As much as it bugs me that they have not spilled that much info on the recording status, what producer they are working with (if they work with a producer at all) and what kind of songs or sound we might expect, I also love it how none of us have even the slightest clue what they are up to while they have been working on the new record for quite some time now.

No matter what the new album will sound like, this whole speculation and waiting has been quite a special (for some annoying) experience by itself and it's something we always will remember.

They doing it old school style !!

I wil try to wait until the album comes out before I listen to anything. I didn't do that for any of the trilogy albums an knew half the albums before they were released.

Do Green Day vinyl copies normally include free download cards?  I really want to listen to the new album on vinyl, but I also want to be able to listen in the car on my iPod without having to spend an hour or two ripping it onto a memory stick and putting all the song info in manually.

The vinyls for the trilogy didn't nor the other albums that I know of

edit: Tune In Tokoyo came with one (altho it was the wrong album lol)
