EXACTLY!! I tried sooo hard to not comment back on that shit but I failed and just commented every idiots ramblings with "You're a MORON" and then I blocked them so I didnt have to listen to the rebuttal hahah some real ignorant peeps out there!

Another good one was some dude quoting Holiday accusing Billie of being homophobic stating "Bang Bang goes the broken glass and kill all the fags that dont agree" leaving it like that on purpose. Im like thats not the bands view hes writing it from a different perspective you fucking dip haha oh man..

I saw that too and wanted so badly to punch people through my phone  Had to restrain myself from responding but saw what I now know is your response and was glad there was one sensible person who didn't take the lyrics literally etc and told the homophobes to shut the fuck up ;) Still shocking to see so many homophobic comments on a Green Day page like why are you even here idiots?

how so? they've also said that since the departure from Emily's army into swmrs that their fan base has grown approx "8 times".
plus, zac is one hell of a producer

So now they have 8 fans. Wow. Keep up the good work boys.

The fact that he just wrote the date seems so final.  Usually people would just write a date like that when they finish something.

And what happened to the chairs?

Isn't it the first time since january (the new album hype) he published on his account a picture of himself about the studio which is not a selfie ? I wonder how far they planned this kind of communication or if/how much it is calcuated...

Yep could be Mix LA

Since everybody knows I know nothing of the recording process - why do they mix in a different studio - why not stay at jingletown.

Different equipment will account for a lot of it, it'll allow you to play with slightly different things and to get a slightly different sound.  Also, if you want a specific person to mix/master for you the chances are that, as good as they may be, the results will be better in their 'home' environment.

I think the album's finished.  It just looks like Billie's listening intently to the final, fully mastered track making sure he's happy with it, and that seems like a reason for the date being there.  Although the date could also refer to the end of mixing and start of mastering, or the end of tracking and starting mixing.  Or just massive trolling, but the fact that the photo was taken by someone else makes it look a bit too official for that.

Well there goes all their fame...

I disagree. They've been getting a lot of plays on national stations such as Alt Nation (Sirius/XM [satellite radio]) and I've heard them a few times on Beats 1.

This thread should be renamed 'Random green day chat while we impatiently wait for an announcement, single, something, anything, please...'

It really shouldn't :P. There's already Random Green Day Thoughts and tons of other threads to post in. If there isn't anything to say about the next album then there's simply no need to post here, it's just annoying to have to scroll through looking for something relevant.

(btw not aiming this comment at you, just saying in general)

Not sure exactly what to make of the cryptic clue . But sounds promising. If they're actively trying to keep our interest/make us think something's happening it can only be a good sign.

Not sure if this is reading too much into it, but if you look at the mixing board faders, which are barely visible, all of them except one or possibly two to the immediate left of Billie are in their full downward position, indicating that they have not been used. this could mean that Billie is indeed listening to a final mix pre mastering, or is in the very very early stages of recording (of which evidence has pointed to the prior).

I don't think that the album has been mastered yet, as I would expect the band to travel to New York to pick up the CDs as they did in the trilogy.

The instagram post is so exciting. I hope we get a teaser or something in the coming week. It has been too long since we have heard something new from our boys.

Having said that, I really loved the way they presented the trilogy to us with small teasers and what not. It was just better that way than speculating what's coming. xD

Is that CLA's mixing studio? Judging from the photos on his website, I don't think they're there: http://chrislordalge.com/photos/cla-and-studio/#/4

(In above photos, notice there is carpet and no window into a recording space)

As someone else pointed out, it's definitely not Jingletown. Doesn't look like Ocean Way Recording either.

Any day now, I can feel it!!! The date on that post makes it really seem like an occaission he wanted to mark...like the fact that it's done and ready for mastering.

Also, I know this is an unpopular comment,  but I bet we see a return to black hair soon...sorry, someone had to say it....

I also think the specific date has a special meaning. And it makes me excited.

I do not understand very much of mixing too, but the instagram photo looks to me like: "We are done!"

3 to 4 weeks. I'm kinda guessing.

I think the trilogy only took not even a week.
