One could argue King For a Day and F(woo) Time are joke songs, but those are more regular songs that have humorous lyrics, which most Green Day songs (and most songs in general) have. and King for a Day is pushing 20 years old. We need a new joke song. Album 12 should have a joke song on it. Sang by Billie Joe since you guys hate it when anyone else sings on here, lol. A silly ditty tucked nicely between a hard rocker and a ballad perhaps, or one stuck in the middle of two standards. Either way: Bill Joe Armstrong. Being really sillly. On Record. Hermione Posted May 8, 2016 Share Posted May 8, 2016 There's plenty of silliness and humour on the trilogy! Fuck Time and Troublemaker spring to mind. And all their albums have some humour/wit included, even AI and 21st CB in subtle ways. Really the only time the whole song including the music has been a 100% joke is when it's been a Tre song. I'd be fine with any of the above, we've seen Tre sing bits of jokey country style songs in Heart Like A Handgrenade and more recently on the Jeff Matika show so I'm sure he still has it in him. A classic hidden jokey track at the end could be cool, or they could just put it out some other way for fun. Every album has elements of it; it's part of what makes their style so awesome and unique. But a bonus/hidden joke track would be fun, too.
