maby we got a rerecording of 99 revs on it, like they did with Welcome To Paradise.

Oh I hope not. The difference with the re-recording of WTP on Dookie was that it was all polished up and professional sounding as opposed to the more raw sound on Kerplunk, but it sounded good either way. I don't know how much more they can polish up 99Revs, or if I even want them to.

Revrad is a word in the Breton language meaning 'A blow on the ass (spank?); a burden, a lot, a bag'.  It comes from the word revr meaning ass.

If it does in fact mean "Revolution Radio", it could very well mean we're waiting on another loose concept-type record. More 21CB than AI in terms of coherence in any story.

I don't know why, those words just stir up some vague imagery in my head.

I agree, I think it's going to be epic and emotional in scope with a loose concept/plot/characters. It's time for Green Day to go epic again, it's what they do best.

99 Revolutions is garbage

Agree, it's probably my least favorite song, ever, by them. Worst on the Trilogy.

The New album needs a re-recording of "Amy" but for Prince.

Is your heart singing oh so weird
Are your eyes just singing in the rain
Dirty records from the beginning
Some blood stains on your shoes
We've all heard about your **** soul
And you don't even have a name
Burning rhythms and posting lies
The joker falls in shame

Prince, don't you go
I want you around
Singin' woah please don't go
Let's party like it's 99

Let's party like it's 99

Did you get a name like sign
To keep you out of harms way?
Warding off all evil suits
But it never really kept you safe
You're too young for this new age
'Cause the record bin's been replaced
57 gone without a trace
And you're a hero to me

Prince, don't you go
I want you around
Singin' woah please don't go
Let's party like it's 99

Let's party like it's 99

Prince, please don't go
Prince, please don't go

Is your heart singing about sex?
Are your eyes just singing the same?
Dirty records from another time
You imprint on my brain
May I have this last dance
By the way where is Nikki?
Can you write me a lullaby?
You were both such darlings

Prince, don't you go
I want you around
Singin' woah please don't go
Let's Party like it's 99

I second this. It sounds badass and I sense a concept behind it as well.

That's just reminded me the pirate radio station they made while working on 21st CB (and referred to again while working on the trilogy) was called "Rebel Radio", they even wore shirts with it on. As they'd also done while making American Idiot, they broadcast songs over a small area for random people driving past to hear, never giving enough away for anyone to purposely find it but enjoying hinting about it and mentioning it after the album was done. I think Cometbus said in In China With Green Day that they have portable radio equipment for doing it.

Bearing this in mind could revrad possibly just be a hint that they played around with their pirate radio station again? Rebel radio could easily become revolution radio.

"Revolution of the Radicals" could fit the bill as well.  Has a political and sociological tone to it, something the band is very much in to.

And if the album has tones of political and sociological lyrics, then they'll probably want it out before the election in early November.

I hope so, I need some really snarky new Green Day lyrics to angrily post after Donald Trump gets elected.

This is great, but we also need one in honor of David Bowie

It's weird right? Tough to get a grip on something like that.

On topic- if Trump makes it all the way to the White House, we're going to need a lot more than a new Green Day album. The thought makes me queasy..

I like the idea of "revolution" being part of the album title. Sounds great imo.

99 Revolutions 2 will be on the new album, kind of like the Beatles did with Revolution.

Rebelious Radio!

(so rebelious they misspell the title!  Haha.  Dang paint with no spell checker.)

It clearly isn't going to be rebellious. Considering they keep hashtagging revrad. I quite like revolutionary radicals. Just my opinion

every time you post you remind me why you're my fave.

This time around I want to have at least made one right assumption about the new album.   I think I've thrown enough junk against the wall at this point that one of them has to stick.

I doubt it tbh. GD very much have a style that's independent. I think if there was to be a tribute it would be so subtle that it would just be a subject of speculation

Billie Joe did write Amy about the death of Amy Winehouse

I can just picture it now, let's say the opening track is in fact Revolution Radio. I can just picture the album opening with 10 or 15 seconds of the sound of flipping radio stations until it finally explodes into the song!!!

Dammit proven wrong again. However in my defence that song is on the trilogy. I skip a fair few songs on that. Plus I didn't like Amy Winehouse so I didn't click onto the meaning of the song.

I still like the trilogy though. Most songs anyway.
