Me and my cousin already planned to get a day ticket for chilli peppers, but if it is green day we'll go for the weekend

I remember my dad saying about the early 80s when he went to see The Stranglers there and a day ticket was only £20 back then. Shame it's about 11 times that now and then more if you want to take a car.

Oh wow. Potentially seeing Green Day this year... :o And if it is true there might be a secret show.

But it's probably GnR. Or at least I'll tell myself that to avoid disappointment :P

Id be amazed if it's over £90 for the day ticket

If it's Green Day.... Oh man.... I'd book my Leeds Festival ticker tomorrow! Gotta be either them or G&R

It's not impossible to be Green Day. If they're really releasing something later this year, a pre-release festival tour could happen - they did it back in 2004 with Reading, Summersonic, Voodoo Festival and even before the trilogy got released they headlined Summersonic and some other one I can't recall

But it's more likely Guns N' Roses. They are doing a huge buzz around the announcement and I only see why doing that if it's to announce a reuniting band - or do they do that with every single announcement? Also maybe the guy at the festival's account didn't even remember Green Day and just wanted to throw something that could lead to GnR

(but if it's really Green Day the G Day tweet was awesome)

Since Guns N Roses have announced a reunion, where they are doing mostly festivals, don't you think it is most likely them

 Sssssh! :P

It probably is, but you never know, g day does seem to lead to Green Day.

Foals and Disclosure were leaked in the UK Metro paper as headliners overnight. Announcement happening right now on BBC radio. So far no GD

Based on what I'm seeing, that seems to be the case.
Heck, there isn't even anyone with a G that was a part of this announcement.

Yeah sorry guys, my bad. You do see where I was coming from though?

Hell if it was guns I would've gone, but some shitty dance band? No

Someone should teach the festivals twitter handler the alphabet

looking to the keybord, the letter G stays below the letter T, maybe the idiot just mistype his answer, as the announcement was on Thursday

It sounds so stupid, but I think it's very plausible.

I don't think they'll play any festivals this summer, here's why: Festivals, at least in Europe, are announcing their line-up already. Meanwhile Green Day are trying to keep their recording process more or less quiet, so they're not going to take an announcement of a festival now, as it would put them on the spotlight with no new music or even real hype for an album (we only got IG photos after all) and they would lose the opportunity to take advantage of that spotlight.

Hmmm, there's still quite strong suggestion on the forums from ITK's they're linked with Glasto/IOW. Both of which reveal final headliner's late on. Say it's really 50/50 ATM. Reading looking unlikely though.

Can't see the guys playzing any festivals now, with no 'official' news on new content
