Green Day playing 924 Gilman St tonight (May 17th)

Go ahead, you like it.

The reason I am replacing Paper Lanterns is the same reason everyone wants KFAD gone. They have done it before. Why would you go back to something that has been done, when there are so many other options.

Misery was a suggestion, I love it, but not married to it.

But... Paper Lanterns is my favorite Green Day song...

Sorry, it is the original King for A DAy. They can do it as a straight up song, but not as the fun medley

I was at the HOB show and when they started to play KFAD, I was like "Oh no, not this song again", but at the same time, I was so tired that it was a little break for me and it allowed me to catch my breath.

I do hope they're going to make some changes for the next tour, though.

I don't mind it on the album I just don't want to hear it in any form on the setlist. If they are going to cut the medley version just substitute it for a new song.

I'm totally fine with the straight-up song version. The way they did it as Sweet Children at the House of Blues was fucking wonderful. I'm so glad I finally heard it live (in its proper form, too!).

King for a Day was absolutely embarrassing and unbearable. I hope I never have to sit through it again.

The first time I heard it, in 2013, it was a novelty thing and Billie Joe actually did a fairly good job at playing the part (shoving his hand down his pants just a few feet in front of my face helped, y'know :P) but in Cleveland it was just bad. He wasn't even doing the rock medley part right... He was just lying on the ground "thanking" people in a rambling way, essentially rehearsing his hall of fame induction speech, but it just wasn't entertaining at all.

Yeah the medley part was kind of awkward. It sounded like he didn't know what to sing after his little thanking speech.

Yeah, it was like he zoned out for 15 minutes and then finally woke up and was like "wait, what the fuck are we doing again?"

He kind of started to sing Hey Jude, but only sang Hey and stopped there, and then I don't really remember. I think he finally sang Satisfaction by the Rolling Stones (I'm not sure)

That was absolutely painful. He was practising his speech & he completely lost his train of thought. The energy was so shit.

Essentially, you're correct. But if I say that I'm whining and not appreciating the opportunity to be at the show, so I digress. :P

I would never doubt your appreciation - its all over the forum. I'm hoping they got the idea. But it was pretty lackluster on their behalf in the first place.

But the hat is really cute.

I don't mind the hey hoooos when I'm in the audience. It can get annoying when you're watching live videos, but it's part of the show.

Haha all you do is talk about that show! Complain all you'd like, I certainly can tell how much it meant to you, and how much fun you had! :D

We were already a little bit off topic, I think. About "show", did I use the word correctly? My first language is French and we often use the word "show" to refer to a gig or a concert (like all the sentence is in French, except this word).

Yes you did but you are not the first to refer to the concert as a show. I remember the first time I saw GD billie ran on stage and demanded everyone "fucking stand up as it was a rock n roll concert." The energy was incredible. A show reminds me of cabaret.

Show is concert in Australian.

Honestly, I think the terms can be used interchangeably. I would say concert, but others may use show.

No show does not equal concert.

By definition a show is a form of public entertainment. By definition a concert is a form of public entertainment featuring a musical guest. Close enough, I win.
