Hero_Of_The_Hour
"Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong and his Pinhead Gunpowder bandmate Bill Schneider have announced they will open Broken Guitars, a guitar store that will call 423 40th Street in Oakland home. It will open its doors to customers on April 3." http://diffuser.fm/green-day-billie-joe-armstrong-guitar-store/ http://loudwire.com/green-day-billie-joe-armstrong-guitar-shop/ http://www.kerrang.com/29162/billie-joe-armstrong-open-music-store/ http://www.rockcellarmagazine.com/2015/03/09/green-day-billie-joe-armstrong-broken-guitars-shop-oakland-details/ Pretty much all the articles are direct copies of the East Bay Express article but at least Diffuser changed one factor and called Bill and Billie bandmates rather than former bandmates. I mean sure it's been years since Pinhead Gunpowder have done anything but that's how they are/have always been. Anyways yeah there are a few more articles...all the same pretty much. Ps. I think this is a cool idea and awesome to see Bill & Billie starting a business together. If I lived in the US I would plan a mad roadtrip just to buy a guitar from their shop because fuck if that's not cool to be able to buy a guitar from a shop owned by the dudes who made you want to play guitar in the first place (ps I do play so i could pretend it was practical...sorta). WhiteTim
they are breaking up. That's why he's selling out his guitars. They aren't all of Billie guitars and he has a whole room filled with guitars he has plenty
Chin for a Day
I'm sure billies mobile is listed in the contacts. This is the same guy that said to meet him on a street corner in the west village and he will give you a drum set. It wouldn't surprise me if he gave out his mobile. They aren't all of Billie guitars and he has a whole room filled with guitars he has plenty And even if he did give them away, I have a feeling he might be able to afford some more
WhiteTim
And even if he did give them away, I have a feeling he might be able to afford some more Exactly considering he gets free guitars from Gibson I'm sure he's not hurting on getting new ones There's this blues player in Austin who gives away his set up every year he's not rich by any means or big time he plays in Texas and every now and then maybe Mississippi and other places but he collects guitars (has a nice size collection too he doesn't collect just old ones he collects all no preferences) and after every tour he'll go to a bar or a store with 3 or 4 of guitars and gives them away

WhiteTim
I've seen the guitars billie gives away at concerts but as you know I know nothing about them - are they expensive/good guitars. Seems they get different guitars I've seen people get epiphones Les Paul Juniors and seen them get a Tele not sure if Fender or Squiers The Epiphones are cheap but they're good for what it is The squiers are not expensive but not real real cheap (the Epi are usually 129 at Guitar Center squiers teles I think start around 300 if I'm not mistaken) To me tho there's no such thing as a bad guitar cause anything that may not be to your liking can always be made into your liking sound wise
