Congratulations to @GreenDay!

Yet they're still on the 86 list...

No article on ultimate-guitar yet. I'm disappointed, mainly cos the anti-Green Day comments on there are generally hilarious.

Still not sure if I wanna buy tickets yet or not. I'll be in Ohio anyway, and I'm sure I can watch the induction on TV.

I was so excited when I read this that I screamed. Dogs were confused.

Terrible HOF Induction Specualtion #1:

Green Day plays 21st Century Breakdown, and instead of Billie singing "We are the class of '13," he sings "we are the class of '15" and all Green Day fans everywhere scream about how clever he is and feel really proud.

Willing this to happen

Yet they're still on the 86 list...

All major label bands are, it's nothing personal just a rule. They can still all go there and play there with side bands and stuff, just can't play as Green Day.

His Rolling Stone interview was so fucking perfect, omg. :runaround:

(I wonder how long he's known they got in, since an interview like this can't just be thrown together, y'know?)

Just look at this stupid fucker and his cute fucking face, it's like he's taunting us.

"Hahaha, adore my cuteness! Now you all won't sleep for two days while you anxiously await ticket-buying!"

I can't look at this picture without smiling :P Cutest picture I've seen in a while, and I'm counting

puppies!

You're right, I hate to admit it but I think this must be what he was referring to the #GreenDay15 thing on instagram. He was so excited he couldn't contain himself, so had to throw a "hint"

Oh, that's not as bad as I thought. I thought it was just a general ban on entry. Still ironic how they're congratulating them after they completely shunned them 20 years ago.

Such great news. Was not expecting them to get in their first year at all so this is really awesome!!

Congratulations green day! Never a doubt they'd get in at some point. So cool it was in the first year! Suprising NIN didn't get in. Thought that was more of a sure thing. Kind of a better mix of artists genre wise without them. Hope green day plays longview, jesus of suburbia, and 2000 light years away at the ceremony! Or longview, when i come around and she haha!

The ignorance is usually what I find hilarious actually. Youtube comments are always good fun too.

Definitely. I'd assume the reporter was working on that series of inductee profiles for at least a couple weeks or so. What day did Billie post the picture?

He posted the picture on November 24 and the voting closed on Dec 9. So, unless they were kicking major fucking ass in the voting. He probably didn't know when he posted the picture.

Hmm. I didn't realize he posted it that long ago... I guess he's just psychic!

Yeah there's always been a rule that major label bands can't play, from the beginning the point of it was to be a place for non major label bands. There were also a lot of people who hung out there or were involved with it who shunned them for signing to a major label back then and made them feel unwelcome for a while, but officially they've only ever been "banned" from playing there as a major label band. And pretty sure the shunning was over with years ago, considering that they were allowed to cheekily sneak on the stage to play there once as far back as 2001 after being in the crowd watching Jason's band and getting invited to play for the rest of their set time, and that they all frequently go to see bands there, play there with side bands and help support it.

OK, that's fair enough then.

As Much as I enjoy them getting in I think its too soon. I mean many of the great acts have had to wait a few years. I think they are deserving but there were also other deserving acts that have been waiting longer then Green Day.

Yep! I'm gonna try to convince Kevin to come with me as well...but yeah, I need to try to make this happen. You will get to find out that I'm not really THAT much of an asshole :P

HOLY SHIT! Ha. It would be hilarious if I met you and found you to be way less attractive than your pictures. Then I wouldn't talk to you at all. LOL

Cant believe a terrible artist like Green Day are getting inducted next to a legend like Lou Reed, who released brilliant tracks such as this:
