I can't believe it's not going to be on telly til the end of May?? Why so long?

I did. I still find it hilarious. Although thankfully I haven't eaten yet, otherwise my keyboard would be covered in vomit.

Alright, stop making snide comments and bitching at each other please. Let's get back to discussion of the hall of fame induction, this thread's big enough without bringing in a discussion of Billie's character or acting skills.

I agree, lets stop with the personal attacks and get back to the discussion at hand. Sorry if I got angry there Hermione, I just don't like personal attacks being aimed at me in an attempt to discredit my views and opinion. However, for the sake of this thread and their egos I will refrain from further scraps if they will.

I'm sorry that I have an opinion that is different to yours. I truly am, although not as sorry that someone of your intelligence has been allowed access to the internet to platform their views for the whole world to see.

Something I really adored was the backdrop during their mini-set, all those old photos. I think it made me tear up more than anything else!

Pretty sure she's talking about the actual live footage of the ceremony and the pictures of that night and not about you lol

Look, no one's said you're not allowed your opinion, people have just disagreed with it. If you post an opinion others might post that they disagree, you don't need to get your knickers in a twist over it and start making things personal, either reply with a reasoned counter argument or just leave it. At this point things have become unpleasant and off topic. So stop now. Only posts about Green Day being inducted into the hall of fame from here please.

Just saw this, that'd be fine.

So, now that we’re back on topic, did anyone else think, for one brief (and glorious) second, that they were about to break into Panic Song before Basketcase? That would have been good....

I seriously liked that transition though. Hope they keep that in live shows.

Also, from the rolling stone article:

But most of all, I have to thank Rob Cavallo. We've only worked with two producers in our entire career, and Butch Vig did one record, so thank you, Butch. Rob, he did all of them. So thank you so much, and I really feel like you're a brother. We're kindred spirits in the fact that we can sit around and play songs all day long together, and to speak in that language I just love to talk about it with you. And we'll talk about it later. Thank you, Rob.

Not that I want to get all over excited but that’s pretty good to hear right?

Yeah, they did that intro to Basket Case the other night at House of Blues also. It's different, but I like it.

I just watched the video of the three songs they played and man, it's so weird to hear him sing "calling out to idiot america" :D

See, I thought the production on 21CB was a bit too polished. Maybe they should self produce? Demolicious sounded awesome. Regardless, it’s good to hear them hinting about the future, even if it’s probably a long way off yet...

i liked how they were ready to try new things on that album. otherwise i prefer raw sound. anyway it's nice to have something to look forward to.

I really expected he would let the crowd sing it :D He's always done that

But at least there were some "Hey ohs" and the crowd even repeated it :D

When the crowd was virtually silent when Billie let them sing "when I come around" in the first chorus I had horrible flashbacks to Jesus Of Suburbia from the live Top Of The Pops show.

Failures are just as important as success and must be remembered accordingly. As a person who knows families affected by cancer his comments were simply abhorrent and distasteful. An apology would have been very appropriate here, so that we can all move on. Alcohol is not an excuse for being a dick and those comments were simply evil, what kind of person wishes cancer on somebody? I'm sorry but I'm shocked that you find this behavior acceptable and refuse to acknowledge that there is plenty of evidence that suggests that he is not a very nice person.

Get to fuck tbh. You're a fucking asshole.

Also whoever said Billie sounded wasted could not b more wrong. He and the band sounded amazing.

Beezy it that you!!!!! :P Just absolutely chuffed for these three guys! 2004 was the year I discovered them and I havnt looked back since. These guys have inspired me, introduced me to rock music and sooooo much more. Billie Mike and Tre look like they enjoyed every moment of this and rightly so! The pics of them with their families is what got me teary eyed. They are truly one big happy punk rock family!.... Also you guys on here kinda rock too...just a little ;)

I’m guessing he didn’t want to risk it being awkward :P

From the videos it seems like there was a it more singing and a bit less hey ohing at HOB too, which isn’t such a bad thing....
