We have some news to report regarding our brother Jason White, and wanted you to hear it from us before word spread. Jason recently underwent a routine tonsillectomy, and his doctors discovered a treatable form of tonsil cancer. Thankfully they caught it early and he should make a full and speedy recovery.
Please join us in sending him love and positive healing vibes during this time.

Doesn´t sound too bad. Best wishes for Jason - "brother" (love that terminology ;) ).

This is on Yahoo's homepage right now (USA).

Might be a custom one for you? Not seeing anything about it on the regular version.

I've wondered if Yahoo is personalizing to my interests without me knowing but I think this is just straight up the news, they link to the RS article:

"very treatable" doesn't mean an easy road. Back in May I was told my testicular cancer was "very treatable". Since May, I've lived through some unspeakable horrors. Don't want to whine and/or complain, so on a more positive note, my thoughts and prayers go out to Britney and Jason. Everybody's story is different, but I can at least relate to having cancer. Britney and I did our chemo around the same time period and I always enjoyed seeing posts/pictures of her doing well.

Are you feeling better now? Also, it's OK to whine.

I have had multiple surgeries (one testicle removed, port placement, etc.) 3 months of chemo, a major operation and now I'm doing six more weeks of chemo, which should get me all good and cured. I lost a kidney during the big surgery and my remaining kidney is acting up...But yes. I am better now than I was back in May. And they thought the big surgery (Retroperitenial Lymph Node Dissection) would kill me, but here I am. Just have to make it through the next six weeks of chemotherapy. Last time I did chemo it really got me down. Couldn't walk, talk, see, hear. My throat closed up and I couldn't eat or drink. I basically either laid on a couch or hospital bed for 3 months. I am determined to not get that way this time around. and..........just to sort of get back on topic, any more info on Jason? Last I read he basically just had to get his tonsils out. Hope that is true!

Any updates about Jason?

Somebody tweeted Jeff about this recently and he replied:

@jeffmatika how are Jason White??? Can you tell us?

“It's a personal matter. When he's ready to talk about it I'm sure he will"

Jason is a private person so like Jeff said I imagine he won't actually be updating us until he is 100% if at all. He will likely just re-appear onstage again with one of his bands. I'm sure his family know know they have the fans love without needing to post things online...they've always stayed away from that anyway.

from Mike n a billboard article posted today

He also said guitarist Jason White was doing well in his battle with tonsil cancer and that Green Day had recently regrouped for its first band practice in awhile. "Everyone's healthy and we're gearing up to kick ass again."
